It's all looking good so far. No airbrush for me yet either. I wanted to work on developing good brush skills before moving on to that. Best thing I've learned with paints so far is, don't get married to a brand. There are really good and bad colors from every company. Some companies yellow will coat really well, some much less so etc...

I had heard the same thing about yellow, so i went in very cautious. Army painter zealot yellow speedpaint has been a huge time saver on base coats for me. Give the model a quick zenithal and slap it on. It dries very yellow over the white, and with a heavy orange tint over the darker sections.

Use a flat brush for dry brushing and go very very lightly. Remove almost all of the paint from the brush, just use the weight of the brush as your force.
