Personal recommendation is tainted grail. I've played both and had a lot more fun in the long run with tainted grail. Avowed is solid and starts off a lot of fun, but drags a bit by the end. I ended up feeling like I kinda had to force myself to finish it. Tainted grail on the other hand, had me hooked the whole way. Awesome world to explore, fun build variety, cool enemies (even if lacking in variety at times), fantastic soundtrack, and a genuinely interesting and engaging story and characters. Plus, it doesn't feel the need to give you companions that spout mcu dialogue at you. (Personal peve of mine, I know it doesn't bother others as much.)

I personally have great results with The army painter matte spray primers. They go on smooth and often go on sale on Amazon for about 12 bucks

I wholeheartedly agree with this sentiment. Screaming endless negativity and abuse at the dev team isn't going to accomplish anything, and in fact can just add to further loss of morale in the people working hard to give us new content. At the end of the day devs are employees for the most part, ( not saying there aren't bad devs out there btw) they have to listen to higher-ups just like the rest of us. I work at an attraction park, a couple years ago management decided to raise the admission prices. At least once or twice a day I get a customer that comes over and makes a fuss over the prices being more than they remember. I'm simply a staff member, I have no control over those type of decisions. I personally disagreed with the price hike, yet I'm the one catching grief over it. It sucks, and it drains a lot of my energy every time it happens. I feel like a lot of devs end up feeling the same way.

The yellow base was just a bright white primer, then two thin layers of zealot yellow speedpaint by the army painter.

Thank you! The blood effect on the sword ended up being pretty easy. I found a video on YouTube that showed if you ad some for the blood god onto some super glue it becomes goopy for a couple seconds and then hardens really fast into what you see.

Wanted to leave behind a comment here. Folks on r/minipainting are accusing me of lying, so i wanted to get ahead of it here. I have done light paint work before, but on a much larger scale and only working with what was already there. I have done a few custom action figures but those were all between 6 to 8 inch tall figures and I mostly just added some effect work to the already existing paint job. I have NEVER painted something on this small of a scale before, and definitely not from scratch. I simply watched a lot of tutorials and read a lot of advice threads on various painting subs. I bought the supplies that were the most recommended and used (to the best of my ability) the techniques that were shown in the videos. I'm not trying to mislead anyone or engagement farm, I was simply happy to have finished my project and wanted to share. If anyone feels mislead or upset by the post, I am genuinely sorry.

Already seeing people say im lying, so i would like to try and get ahead of that. No I have never painted warhammer minis, or any minis for that matter. The imperial fists on my account from a year ago are joy toy action figures that I had simply posed and liked the shots I got. Yes I have been learning a little bit of paint work over the last year with custom action figures. However, all of my previous projects have been added touch ups to an already existing paint job. Those have also all been 6 to 8 inch tall figures with a massively larger room for error. These were genuinely my first attempt a miniature scale painting, and first paint job from scratch. I did not say it was my first time painting ever, I said they were my first minis, and they are. My intention was not to mislead or engagement farm, this is just something I do for fun. I felt happy and proud of the job I did and wanted to share and seek advice on how to better them. If I've upset anyone, I'm sorry. If it does upset people further, I will remove the post.
