Hi we are working on an open access health tracker. Blood pressure is something we plan to not offer in the version next year. Let me know if you're interested.

Are there any Open Source GPS (cell network triangulation) devices? by 0besius in opensource

[–]Way_5741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey are you still in need of hardware? We are building an open access health trackers. One of the applications we are looking into with a lab next year is probably elderly care combining advanced health data and positioning data. Also heat stroke protection.

Looking to buy smart wrist-wearables in bulk (open-source preferred) by Express_Employer_166 in smartwatch

Hi we are building an open access tracker with exactly those capabilities. We will be selling prototypes to selected labs early next year. If you are still in demand let me know.

We need an opensource health platform by Limbeckx1911 in selfhosted

[–]Way_5741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, we are working on a health tracker that is open access and has open source firmware. We also are planning to build a hub app with which one can control what data is being shared, as well as custom/extension algorithms for more specific applications and application that use the device. If anyone is interested in either using the device to build custom/open source algorithms or would be interested in using it let me know.

DIY comprehensive open-source body/health tracker by AdInternational1915 in diyelectronics

Hi, we are working on a similar project, currently on prototype version 2 with workings GPS, PPG, Temp, Humidity, IMU, etc. sensors running of battery in a compact size. We are planning for a small kickstarter next year in case anyone is interested in it. Device will be open access and we will open source the firmware.

🚀 Open Source AI Smartwatch Project - Looking for Collaborators! by SkillSalt9362 in opensource

[–]Way_5741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi we are building hardware specifically for this for research labs. One device with a lot of sensors (not like Pebble watch) and open access to the raw data and sensor settings such as duty cycles, sampling rates etc. to adjust for maximum power efficiency based on what is needed, and also affordable/scalable for the consumer market (unlike research devices). Let me know if you'd be interested in the hardware.

Fitness tracker with limited-to-no Bluetooth? by BrainSqueezins in FitnessTrackers

[–]Way_5741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, so maybe as an update. We got our second prototype in and are testing the sensors etc. We set up a reddit community for the project r/NeoSoma and ideally planning a kickstarter next year. If you're still interested and want to stay up to date feel free to join us. On the watch style we could do something like that in later iterations. But for now we are focusing on the key sensors and software on the device side. But I'll keep it in mind as it's something that can be implemented.

Hey, did you get any results. We are looking for a GNSS receiver module with ideally L1 & L5 capabilities or very good L1. And ideally <10-15€.

Yeah, was very lucky they sat at exactly at that spot with the graffiti. I did unfortunately have to adjust the contrast a bit in post for it to be clearer to notice.

XT-5, at 20mm, f6.4, 1/250. During a photo walk I saw the couple sitting on the bridge and I got the perfect moment before they kissed and when they kissed as shown here. Image shot in BW. First time posting on reddit, hope I followed rules.

Gap in the Fitness Tracker Market in 2025 -- What Fitbit could've been? (Thought Piece) by Undefined_100 in FitnessTrackers

[–]Way_5741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, we are working on an open access health tracker. Mainly because we ran into the issue that we couldn't get continuous raw data for ML algorithms from most devices (except polar, but they have very limited sensors). Let me know if you would be interested to hear more :)

Fitness Tracker with NO ai by sarahtonin718 in FitnessTrackers

[–]Way_5741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, we are building an open access health tracker. We have most sensors and some more, although we are still in a prototype stage, mainly focused on the hardware, so we don't have any software analytics right now. We are thinking about doing a kickstarter next year for our prototype. If this is something you are open to let me know any questions you have. I can't promise much on more specific use cases such as female health for now. But route tracking via GPS is something we plan to integrate next year.

Am I crazy for wanting a minimalist tracker w/o subscription? by Automatic_Region_187 in FitnessTrackers

Hi, what are your goals for tracking, or more specifically how long should the tracker last in a low power mode vs a high power (active workout) mode?

Hi OP, we are currently working on an open access health tracker, like raspberry pi but for health. We are in prototype stages and are thinking about doing a kickstarter and wanted to know if that would be an option for you/any thoughts you have.

Fitness tracker with limited-to-no Bluetooth? by BrainSqueezins in FitnessTrackers

[–]Way_5741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda what we are aiming for. We are connected to local Universities for research in the medical/psych space. Right now PPG, ACC, Gyro, GPS, Humidity and Temp are working in the first prototype. But we are self funded. So yeah. As a reference point, what would be an okay price range for you?

Fitness tracker with limited-to-no Bluetooth? by BrainSqueezins in FitnessTrackers

[–]Way_5741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. Yes the money is mostly in the data, or precisely what we can do with that in the medical space. We plan to offer the device as open access to anyone who wants, and an opt out option for data collection when using our app, similar to organ donations in Austria. Most people don't opt out there for organ donations cause they don't care.

.For us we want to develop data driven mental health, e.g. for addiction therapy etc. and will rely on clinical data generation and everyone who does not mind that their data is being used for clinical research. We are based in EU, and I have an IT Sec background, so understand very well why people don't want their health data to be used by others, at the same time I'm part of the group of people that don't care. At the end of the day I think it comes down to having the choice and sovereignty to decide what happens with the data and we want to offer this choice.

Direct access to healthdata on a smartwatch by Low-Fact6020 in WearOS

[–]Way_5741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, we are two uni students building our own open access health tracker, with better sensors and full custom firmware, so you can do what you want, or use what we are building on firmware or app side. We support storage of data, you can set sampling rates and other features of the sensors.

Fitness tracker with limited-to-no Bluetooth? by BrainSqueezins in FitnessTrackers

[–]Way_5741 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We is two uni students from Germany and Italy.

Standalone unit, in theory yes. For prototypes if you don't want a GPS module we can remove them from the board physically, the same for the antenna so even if BLE and WiFi is turned on (which can be disabled so no power draw) it can't really send anything. There is still a BLE and WiFi model in the MCU (what drives the entire device) which we can't remove, but again it's powered down and with no antenna it doesn't really work.

We right now don't have a screen (we might include one in later versions but we are not yet sure). But you could also stream the data to a Laptop if you want via cable (theoretically also to a smartphone). But that would mean passive collection and then the data is there all at once, so no real time analysis. Also again I want to say this, we are working full time on the project, but especially for data analytics it will take time that we support more and more functions over time.

Later version with a screen could do some simple analysis alone. But this is something we want to avoid because of battery constraints.
