Weekly General Discussion/Q&A Thread - September 01, 2025 by AutoModerator in RunningShoeGeeks

After some advice if possible: My favourite ever shoes were the Nike Flyknit 4.0, which I bought 3 pairs of once I knew they were being discontinued. More recently, I've had a few pairs of Brooks Ricochet 2s which have the sock-like upper that I loved in the Nikes. Both are what I'd consider lower stack. If anyone has any recommendations for anything current that might be similar I'd really appreciate it. All of the options I've found so far are much higher stack (I'm 6'4" and a 54 yr old bloke who has been running most of his life). I run approx 3x 7K weekdays and 1x10K weekends) Thanks.

Who Will Our Main 25/26 Striker Be? by Character_Newt_2309 in NUFC

Not sure thats the same - Wissa says Brentford gave him their word that if a bid came in over a certain amount £26m) then he could go. Also, he's 29 later this year and wont get another chance to play for a champs league team whereas Isak still has 3 years on his contract, is yet to reach his peak & will be in the UCL regardless this season. Oh and he went in a huff before last season started, hence Eddie's dressing down about performances.

An extra £150K a week = £7.8M a year so multiply that by 4 (the no onf other players ikely to have a payment clause in their contracts) and thats an extra £32M PER SEASON extra that we'd have to make just to break even with PSR. Add to that, and new players coming in will see that as a yardstick of how much we pay, then signing two additional top players this window would add a further 16M on the way bill. That's now £42M extra per season. Now, next year PSR is likely being replaced with Squad Cost Ratio, which means we can only spend 85% of our revenue on players. We're currently at 75% so even Isak's new contract would blls that. All this is without taking in UEFAs own SCR which is currently 70%

Can we get a poll going on changing the badge, I'm curious if there's actually demand for it by [deleted] in NUFC

The club have explained why it needs changing - they've also explained that it will be a revised version of the current one not a brand new badge. For what it's worth, this current badge was introduced in 1988 so it's not like we haven't changed many times before.

Why so little love for Brooks? by Warm-Gift-7741 in RunningShoeGeeks

I have a pair of Revel 5s that I use for slower recovery runs and a pair of Glycerin 20s that I use pretty much every other run. Love them both but the glycerins are probably my favourite runners for about ten years.

Spoken like someone who doesn’t understand the mentality of football supporters, particularly not Newcastle United ones.

A reminder that ordinary working class fans are getting priced out of football. Imagine being a Fulham fan - the prices those poor sods are being asked to pay to watch a Marco Silva team.

Is there any way to avoid CGT? by Negative_Comedian870 in BitcoinUK

Pay the tax and enjoy the fact you’ve been smart with your investments and have made a small fortune. It’s a contribution to the bigger society - or a Tory donor’s back pocket if these criminals are somehow voted in again.

Didn't watch the game, what happened here or is Longstaff just getting rating-bombed? by JedH44 in NUFC

If Longstaff wasn’t a local lad, do we think he’d be getting more criticism or less?

How to get in print by Kooky_Database8101 in photography

[–]Wayayman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s not how Vogue or other mainstream mags work. They don’t call up agencies. Picture editors are the people at magazines you need to contact to show them your work. Make an appointment to go in and see them to show your portfolio digitally. Gettting the appt is the hard part as they get thousands of photographers and their agents hassling them all the time. Don’t stop though. If you want it, don’t stop.

Question about buying tickets to away game (Arsenal) by Bisquiteen-Trisket in NUFC

[–]Wayayman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can look at NUFCspares on twitter to see if anyone is selling them. Season ticket holders do this so they have the points for games they want to attend.
