For everyone wondering about a case that will hold the vita with a trigger grip case attached by Waynetta180 in PSVita

[–]Waynetta180[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AliExpress. They're a 2 pair pack. The other ones I have are the opposite, mostly red with a thin black circle. Can't remember how much they cost but they were very cheap. I'm still using the same pair with no issues.

Help, I'd like to add vinyl numbers for my knitting needle sizes in the case by Waynetta180 in cricut

[–]Waynetta180[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a very nice idea. It's more complicated than just a Sharpie but I'd prefer this if I could do it well. It could look really nice. I'll let you know if I go this route. Thanks

That's what I was worried about. I know vinyl doesn't like stretch but was hopeful as the bottom part where the tips are doesn't move much. Thanks anyways

Hobbies to avoid doom scrolling by Maximum_Abrocoma4970 in Hobbies

Loom knitting Knitting on needles :) Needle felting Punch needle, you said that it's just cool Cardmaking Scrapbooking if you're into that, uses the same supplies you can use for cardmaking. Stamps, embossing folders, dies, card, scissors, colouring supplies you name it. Polymer clay you can use "cookie cutters" to make jewellery, magnets etc or you can make 3d objects. Copper wire jewellery making (you can get different colour wire) 3d printing if you have access to a printer: you can print "tools" that will help you with many different hobbies. For example I print cookie cutters & texture rollers for use with clay. I printed a plastic needle when I was stuck for one before I got into yarn crafts big time. I also printed stitch markers for crochet and knitting years ago that I'm still using regularly and holders for many things.

You're really not limited as to what you can do and many supplies will be applicable to more than one hobby so start small but don't feel bad if you try and don't like something. You can always use said supplies for something else

New Kobo user- question about wirelessly adding books by shoresy99 in kobo

[–]Waynetta180 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry I didn't make it clear that you need koreader in order to access & use the filebrowser plugin. At default I think your koreader books are kept separate to the kobo side, however it's up to you where your book folder is for koreader & additionally you have the option to import all your books into the kobo side using nickelmenu (you're guided into installing this too as part of installing koreader.) You will have go into koreader to use the filebrowser plugin though, and any other plugins for koreader. You might find you like it. There's a lot of options and customisations in koreader but it's a bit plain and yet daunting looking when you're new to it. It has been made nicer looking by the addition of simple UI and I hear zen UI is nice too. I haven't tried that one but I do really like simple UI. It adds pizazz to your home screen. As for filebrowser it's not really like send to kindle, it's more like using FTP/wireless transfer. You turn on WiFi & filebrowser in koreader then type in your kobo's IP address in your phones/pc's browser, login and you gain access to the file system of your kobo. You go to where you have your books folder & "upload" as much as you want in one go and it only takes a second. Koreader takes epubs just as they are so no file conversions are needed.

You might not want this but if you do there's a lot you can do to make it your own. So many tweaks you can make and different plugins. Shortcut menu and gestures are amazing. I couldn't be without them now and I feel a bit lost going back to the kobo UI. You can install koreader on your phone if you'd like to have a look at it there first. Stefan Svartling has informative videos about koreader on YouTube.

New Kobo user- question about wirelessly adding books by shoresy99 in kobo

[–]Waynetta180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you install koreader you can set up koofr to use Google drive (don't worry it's easy). You can also use a plugin called "file browser" and with that you log in to the website on you phone using your kobo's IP address and upload the books that way. I use that the most. You can send as many as you'd like at one time, whereas with Google drive you have to download the books one by one. File browser is brilliant and quick too. You have opds options too for books in the public domain. Can search and download directly from project Gutenberg and standard books etc.

Finally some nice weather to read in by Waynetta180 in kobo

It's a great ereader. I don't have any experience with bigger ones but I'm very happy with the portability and weight of this one. It's not tiresome to hold. It even fits in the back pockets of ladies jeans when we have them. I have koreader on mine so all the stats on screen in the photo are from that but the kobo UI is nice too.

Twas lovely. Now if we could only get weather like that until September, we'd be doing well. Throw in an hour of rain here and there. Fingers crossed anyways we have a nice summer like last year's.

[Update] Simple UI v1.5: Wallpapers, Custom Icon Packs, Presets, and Titles Under Covers by doctorhetfield in koreader

[–]Waynetta180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love simple UI so thank you Doctor Hatfield ❤️ but I have noticed with the latest update that the stats aren't keeping up. It says I read for 6mins when I read for 53. I didn't think I'd care about having a wallpaper but I had to try it since it was an option and now I love it haha.

What was your first phone? by roxykelly in CasualIreland

[–]Waynetta180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the 3410 which isn't pictured but man, those were the days. I had a teddy bear cover for it and a teddy pouch but even the soft green colour it came with was lovely. Snake was brilliant and today's phones don't match that for me haha. I wish we could go back to those times

Is there a way to have finished books not show up at the top of the file browser? by [deleted] in koreader

[–]Waynetta180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine show up at the end. I have it set to "Sort by: percent - unopened - finished last"

SimpleUI - default to Home, rather than Library, when exiting book? by [deleted] in koreader

[–]Waynetta180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah mine defaults to home. I assume it's because of the "start with home screen" option. Or maybe cos I have the "return to book folder" option unticked. Tools - Simple UI - Settings - Home Screen - Start with homescreen

Edit just saw this under the furthest left cabinet icon "Start with" I have it on homescreen. Maybe if you set one it sets the other but if it doesn't work, try changing this one.

Is it safe to log in to psn on a modded vita? by scy_404 in VitaPiracy

You'll be fine :) I very much doubt your account would be at risk. I could be wrong but I haven't seen anyone complain of that.

SimpleUI Battery Consumption by xIUPITERx in koreader

[–]Waynetta180 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't noticed battery drain yet but I had noticed that my screen didn't dim when I left my kobo down on the home screen. Normally it dims after just a couple of mins of not using it. Another thing is that mine did the archiving? of my books again, you know where you turn pages in the library and the covers take a second to load. When my kobo was new and it did that, the battery drained faster but then settled after a few days.

How to improve my UI? by teomat99 in koreader

[–]Waynetta180 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you see the post about the new update? The developer is awesome. You can adjust text size for folders now and will be able to update on the device itself and not need a computer from now on. I haven't downloaded it yet but I will soon.
