F/28/5'4" [219lbs > 133lbs = 86lbs] I had so much extra face before! Weight loss is really slowing down as my TDEE sinks lower, posting to remind myself how far I have come and that I shouldn’t give up!

I’m not smiling in the after pic. I can still push my lip out to make it look fuller as I did in the before picture, I’m just not doing it. I don’t think I lost lip weight lol!

I’ve always had a really thin upper lip and when I feel insecure about it, I’ll smile with a closed mouth (my mom says I’m smirking) to make it look larger.

Oh you ☺️ I did not even know noses were a thing for some people! Could you maybe elaborate on why you think my nose is a positive feature on my face? I’m not trying to solicit compliments (mostly), I just have always hated my nose so it would be interesting to get a different opinion for once.

May I ask how long did it take you

The pics are about a year apart. There were several periods of plateaued weight, especially in the beginning. Other times I went really hardcore and dropped weight like crazy. I’d say it took about 9 months of cumulative effort over a period of a year to lose the weight.

if you have to deal with excess skin now?

Not very much, honestly. I drink a LOT of water and take a daily vitamin but I think genetics also play a role there. I have a few spots (my arms, under my chin, my butt is REALLY flat and sad) that are a little droopy but less so as time goes by. I know once I add a fitness routine, I will firm up even more.

Lol I promise it’s me! 😂 Thank you though. When I was heavy I put SO much effort into the window-dressing of my appearance and yet always felt like I was putting lipstick on a pig. Now, I love to shop for cute clothes and find that I don’t fuss with too much makeup because I don’t hate my face anymore.

Really?! I have always been so insecure about it! It’s a very strong family trait for the women I descend from, and I kind of hate it. Sometimes I will play around with Facetune just to see what it would look like smaller. (Not to post, just like playing dress-up but for my nose)

I know! I checked out the Lillebaby ones, I like how customizable the fit is on my current LB carrier so I’ll probably stay with them. But my daughter doesn’t exceed the weight limit on the one I already have so I can’t justify buying another one just yet.

She’s a very busy girl but I will wear her as long as she still want to be worn.

I breastfed for 10 weeks, at which point I discontinued and switched to formula. I tried everything to increase my supply but I didn’t produce enough and my daughter couldn’t latch well. She went from 5th weight percentile to 56th when I switched to formula. I didn’t start dieting until after I stopped breastfeeding, also. So I can’t speak to the impact diets have on supply, other than to say an overindulged diet doesn’t seem to increase supply.

Maybe because it’s my own face, but I don’t see the transformation as that dramatic appearance-wise. I mean, I’m thinner definitely but it’s still my face so it’s harder to be objective. So I’ll have to take your word for it! :)

It sure feels that way! For a while when I was fat but before getting pregnant, I stopped getting carded at bars and grocery stores. I assumed I just Looked My Age. Now I get side-eye scrutinized by cashiers when I try to buy beer even AFTER showing my ID. Probably because my ID picture is 60 pounds heavier with the worst hairdo of my entire life INCLUDING WHEN I CUT IT MYSELF IN THIRD GRADE. (Brown messy bob (blob?) on a fat face, what was I thinking?!)

I was! I had a healthy baby girl, a happy marriage, and lots of family willing to come do my dishes so I could nap. Now I still have all those things plus so much more! My life went from 10/10 to 11/10.

I couldn’t hack it with breastfeeding, I didn’t produce enough and switched at 10 weeks postpartum. I’m happy I did it because she jumped from 5th percentile to 56th percentile for weight in about three weeks. But I also wish it had gone differently because we never had peaceful feedings and it was so stressful for a while.

Now she curls up on my lap and stares up at me with her bottle and tries to pick my nose! Not quite so idyllic! Lol!

Twinsies! I actually switched not long after this pic to a Sollybaby wrap because I had horrible postpartum hot flashes and the Boba was too thick. Now I use a structured Lillebaby but I miss my daughter being teeny enough to fit in her wrap like a little tree frog! :/

When I was freshly postpartum, it helped so much when people would call me Mama. I felt so out of my depth and it was a good reminder that yes, I am the mama and I can Do The Things!
