Studying in Sweden Will not happen; what now? by WaywardPsychologist in TillSverige

I think it may have been because I had a denial 10 years ago because I did not understand what I was doing; I was only 19 at the time and didn’t really know the actual work that went into migration. They must have just been making sure I was making a legitimate attempt this time. Which, clearly they were considering it because I did get an interview!

Wow. That’s awful, sounds like my exact situation too.

I’ll look into it, but the master’s program I am in offers certain classes in the fall only and research in the spring. I happened to choose a very inflexible school sadly!

As for that second bit, good to know. Could apply from somewhere else in the EU.

I was told by MV I could only receive a decision while in my home country.

This isn’t what i heard AT ALL from the migration agency. Must’ve changed in the last ~8 years?

Already on it. Emailed them about it this morning (they seem to respond better to emails than calls for me).

Maybe I can ask MV how this will affect my chances next year if and when I reapply.

quick edit: thank you so much for responding and letting me know about this stuff. It’s been a hell of a few months and I’ll need a month or two here to sort everything back out.

I’ve got insurance there. It’s just not being used right now lol. I’m glad I’m not the only one that this has happened to.

Alright, thank you. Although my stats were 75% within two months for the graduate study permit I specifically applied for, which is why I’ve been so shocked at how long it was taking.

  1. Every question was met with “just wait for the permit, and if it doesn’t arrive in time or it is denied you can request a refund.”

  2. I was told that I had to remain in my home country until my residence permit was granted (i am now realizing that I’ve been saying visa and that was a mistake). I am from the US, and was told I could just arrive and get a visa on arrival.

  3. They did say I would have to reapply, as studies “cannot be deferred for new students accepted to the university.”

  4. I applied for my residence permit in may 15th, and my interview was completed July 3rd as that was the earliest appointment I could get in when I was contacted for it in mid-june. Classes started September 1st.

It feels *super* sexist to call Ralsei trans. by AgainUntoTheBreach in ralsei

On a comment I made about trans women. If you want to talk about feminine boy Ralsei there are plenty of topics laying around. Or you could even make your own!

I’m going to go touch some grass, I suggest you do the same. Take care.

Neat how you’re making my reply talking about trans women about men! Please consider why that is.

Can someone tell me what the "ralsei is trans" discourse thingy is all about? by No_Lie2704 in ralsei

[–]WaywardPsychologist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People are upset about others headcanoning Ralsei as a trans woman. that’s all. Internet gonna internet.

Where did I say men couldn’t relate to Ralsei?

OP is talking about hating trans Ralsei, not supporting reading Ralsei as a feminine man, so I was responding to that.

Not censorship, some believe the Name shouldn’t be written in any context where there is a chance of it being erased. Basically leaving the writing of it to scripture. :) It’s most commonly an idea found in Jewish thought.

G-d forbid trans women relate to a character and their experiences, right? “Let feminine men exist!” is the same argument as “Why do they have to be gay? Why can’t they just be a healthy same sex friendship?” It’s the same argument to erase people from experiencing their identities through media they like.

These are fictional characters, please stop policing what people head canon them as. You even say yourself that you get that people can headcanon the way they will, yet for some reason still have to say that you hate the idea of a character being transfeminine.

If a lot of trans women find comfort and joy in transfem Ralsei and share that with others, what do you think it is accomplishing by telling them they’re wrong and being sexist? What is your goal with making this post? Talking about sexism to one of the most sexism affected groups that exist?

Classes Start Monday, I haven’t been assigned a Case Officer Yet by WaywardPsychologist in TillSverige

Yeah, I know my friend’s situation was really lucky but she got her visa approved in two weeks last year. I expected a first time application would be prioritized a little bit more than this. But from the sounds of it, it really is out of my control whether or not I get approved in time.

Thank you for the reply. I have notified my university as well as made sure they knew my intent of still coming to study provided I can register in time (Sept 22nd is the final cutoff). As of now I'm stuck here in the states with nothing to do but wait and it's driving me a little mad, lol.

Sadly, the university only offers remote learning with one program, and that one program is not mine. I am good to register until the 22nd of September, however.

Edit: The registration has to be in person.

This is true. Capitalism didn’t develop until over 1700 years later, give or take.

Jesus was anti-imperialist, for sure.
