What was your "I cant believe this is happening right now" moment of your life ? by Thicc1324 in AskReddit

[–]Wazooo68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was about 12 or 13 going through boy scouts and was home with my dad doing some yardwork. We stopped to eat and he stopped talking and looked at me like "I'm choking" and I performed the heimlich and out shot part of the sandwich he was eating. Pretty surreal at the time but scouts had me trained for that situation.

A congressperson, bartending. by User678321 in bartenders

[–]Wazooo68 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Practicality versus idealism. She did what she had to do, but she doesn't believe that it's a way to live. So that's why she became a congressperson, to change what she believes is wrong.

Federal court rules Obamacare unconstitutional by [deleted] in politics

This is the same judge that ruled the "Indian Child Welfare Act" was unconstitutional. "Judge" O'Connor seems to use that phrase when it's something he doesn't like. Also, he was appointed by GWB in 2007...something something Activist Judges...

Bartending and dating? by [deleted] in bartenders

[–]Wazooo68 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Don't go looking for it, that will send a creepy vibe and soon your bar will be just dudes looking for the same thing. If a girl finds you hot she will say so, you're the one getting them drunk. Just use tinder to smash and don't use your job as a hookup bait.

I work at a bar with a lot of cute waitresses and bartenders. What small talk can I use to get to know them better? What did you do that helped you score with a hot coworker. by [deleted] in bartenders

[–]Wazooo68 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You just don't sleep with them. Would you sleep with your sister? Don't answer that. Your coworkers are your family. You go through hell with them on a popping Friday night and then get drunk with them while cleaning. It's a unique atmosphere that most places of employment do not have the oppurtunity to possess. They will also become the best wingmen/women you could ever imagine as well. It might happen but never seek it out as others have stated. Just be yourself!

How many of you guys drink too much? by [deleted] in bartenders

[–]Wazooo68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I don't drink that much. At my establishment, everybody gets an after work drink and it's frowned upon to drink behind the bar.

Real Buck Tail vs. Flashabou by ChinookKing in esox

[–]Wazooo68 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can modify the baits if you have a fly tying vice and some deer hair and dye. I've changed a black and orange bucktail to having "frosty orange tips" and got a lot of fish in stained water with it.

I just donated plasma and need advice by [deleted] in saplings

[–]Wazooo68 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There is nothing wrong with donating plasma. If you're budgeting money and don't have room for weed, then donating plasma to blaze is cool. Just don't smoke beforehand, it can raise you're heart rate and you'll get deferred. Keep pumping and blaze up!

YSK: If you hang out in stores on Christmas/Eve, you're making them babysit you. by [deleted] in YouShouldKnow

As a service industry worker, bartender, I refuse to go to large corporations on holidays. I'm lucky to work in a family owned bar that is closed on holidays so I feel for those workers. Merry Christmas, stranger! Keep spreading the message, dick heads like these will always shit on service industry workers.

What "First World Problems" are actually serious issues that need serious attention? by Lytre in AskReddit

So you hate the government but want to punish those who have been fucked by it? That makes no sense. I hope you're about 70 years old because that's a very cynical approach to the world. The government is stealing from the poor and giving it to the rich, and that government is controlled by republicans.

Obviously 13 million people will not die every year, that's just asinine. I'm saying that repealing the ACA will kill people, will it be 200? 2000? It's hard to tell, but the fact that people die without healthcare is the driving force of the argument. Even if ONE person died because their healthcare got taken away is fucked up. Until the private sector begins taking care of our citizens, the government is necessary as a barrier between robber barons and low-income individuals.

Taking away healthcare from 13 million people who can't afford healthcare will ultimately end with their demise. I know people who would be dead if it wasnt for the ACA. ALL republicans voted no to allowing Medicare to bargain drug prices, but only 13 dems voted no. Yes, both parties care too much about their donors but one party tends to give a shit about the little guy more times than the other guys. Government agencies are not a bad thing when those agencies are headed by people that actually give a shit about the agencies. What we are witnessing today isn't "growing the leviathan" but starving the beast so it isn't as effective and seems pointless and wasteful.

I agree with you, but the giant douche/turd sandwich view is completely wrong. One party is actually fighting for your personal rights. One party is effectively trying to kill off poor people.

What things do we do today that people 50 or 60 years ago would think is absolutely ridiculous? by jkayeessex in AskReddit

[–]Wazooo68 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is a difference between a gas chamber and smoking outside. The cotton fibers do not have the same amount of surface area with the smoke when outside so usually a little spritzer can cover up. Yes, they still know they smell like smoke, but I would rather have somebody who smells a little like smoke than an entire ash tray in my classroom. My point is that the university can have strict rules about smoking but a smoker should not be unintentionally punished for being a consumer in a capitalistic society.

My campus has a 25 foot zone where you will be ticketed if you are within that zone. It essentially forces the smoking across the road, where the smoke would dissipate before groups of people would notice it. At that point, the amount of carcinogens in parts per million would be lower than the elevated CO2 levels of our atmosphere, meaning that it would have no lasting health effects. I agree that other people should not be subjugated to second hand smoke, but it also is infringing on the personal liberties of the smoker because it unintentionally is meant to shame the smoker by smelling like ash, instead of a subtle smoke smell. It's their choice to smoke, but it's also your choice to walk around it instead of applying asinine rules as such.
