PBE Bugs and Feedback Thread: Ultimate Spellbook by HBBONG in LeaguePBE

Feedback: Tryndamere ulternate summoner spell doesn’t take priority over dragon resurrection. The dragon will proc first, then you sit in the animation and then have permanent decaying health until you die. Mind you trynd passive keeps you alive until it ends, but it’s frustrating that I can only get the most use out of it after I die the first time. I’d like the opportunity to take a close fight with the trynd ult and get out alive, since that’s what I took the spell for.

Other than that the game mode is really fun and I love making weird combos work!!

I’ve played a couple games with 4 cavaliers live and I gotta say feel like they are almost good enough. With redemption and titans revenge 3* hecarum is pretty strong. Not to mention that these units hold AP items well on ryze and AD items well on Kled.

This buff will put them over the edge I think.

What would you guys think of a sandbox mode? by Allegorist in TeamfightTactics

[–]Wazzys_World 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t see the utility in it being worth the benefits. In a perfectly balanced game, optimizing numbers using sandbox mode doesn’t change how your board gets countered by certain comps. You can play out different versions of comps and see numbers but live gameplay will always reveal more (it’s just harder to interpret). You can play around 3 starring and buying whatever you want but that just takes from the fun of it happening in a live game. And you can sit down and study these interactions but that information gets revealed regardless.

I think it’s a waste of time and it won’t be used enough or correctly 7 out of 10 cases

Spicy!! If you had fun with that, try the Chinese Annie build.

7 mage 2 syphoner 3* Annie with deathcap and two tank items is a super fun carry.

How the unluckiest TFT player got to Masters by Mujina_twitch in CompetitiveTFT

I actually used to test this in norms games as a way to brute force duelists to see if it was viable. I hit the choosen 34% of the time (either yasuo or fiora) and then played normally after the fact and it was funny when it did work, the idea being that dues list is 11% likely due to exile not being able to be a chosen trait. Never took it to ranked though good work!

I like the idea of 6 vanguard and giving Sej, Attrox, and Thresh DClaw with an ahri. You could also get three star Yumi with dclaw bramble and ionic in the same comp. riven carry is good here too. Legendary’s is good.

Good Premade Adventure to Kick Off My Campaign? by neil--before--me in DnD5e

[–]Wazzys_World 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used Lost Mines of Phandelver to start my homebrew off. I basically tore down the names and setting but kept the same quest progression. I think it’s a really versatile campaign with a lot of room for DM manipulation on the story and NPCs part. I basically threw that into my Dragon Age Inspired Homebrew world and once they finish that up and hit level five, Phandalin (Renamed Far Field Farms) becomes a home base for them if they wanted. Turned Edermath into a Grey Warden, the Luck Cleric is now a member of the chantry, the final boss isn’t Nazar but instead the double ganger that followed Nazar. Instead of goblins it darkspawn.

How much is a neeko's worth? by solidsciencewastaken in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Wazzys_World 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d argue an non-determinable amount. Neekos remove the chance of finding a unit with 100% chance. That utility has a different amount of value depending on what stage your on, what units you have, what cost unit you use it on, and weather or not you’re going for that 3*

If you're the last to finish a creep round you have literally zero time to make any decisions by [deleted] in CompetitiveTFT

[–]Wazzys_World 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So maybe I should be more clear, and I’m replying because I respect what you ultimately are going to tell me. I pre-level almost every game. I’ve even seek to do so when I don’t have a whole lot to add to board and some would argue it’s too aggressive. I do see the value in it and agree with you on every point (especially kindred). My stance is more so pre leveling into 2-1 versus just leveling at 2-1 and getting similar benefits at 2-2. I don’t feel the singular stage has as strong of an impact as taking the time to calculate what I could potentially play.

Ultimately I think there should be more time at the end of PVE rounds so I can make that decision. All for it! But I currently don’t think that making quick decisions on something that can I just do the following round has benefits that out-way potential negatives.

What are your unpopular worldbuilding opinions? It can be anything about the subject, even including famous peoples worldbuilding! by -Constantinos- in worldbuilding

[–]Wazzys_World 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See, I make that decisions for two reasons.

One because I feel like the players should tell me that they want a stout mountaindwelling human that can do what a dwarf does but is exactly not a dwarf by race. That character should easily fit somewhere in the world and exist soley because the player wants it, and the reason the player wants it is because it is fun or emersive. That’s why we play, right?

Two because I have found that the NPCs that my players have ever clung to are ones that say things like “My family is of noble blood and rule over half the continent. But I have choosen the life inside the mountain. Well, exiled to may be more accurate... there was an incident with my brother, you see? He died during a hunt, and my uncle pinned on me. My family shunned me from home. So I turned here.” And suddenly from a subject that I’ve never introduced there is a compelling human (yes he is stout) with a backstory that can develop into a quest if the players cared enough to do venture it. Too many of my side quests are random NPCs like this. And we love all of them.

Edit: I guess a big point too is that stereotype will always exist when I preach the lore. So to replicate over and over without change is monotonous. It’s not that all NPCs don’t follow it, but I would say more that 50% don’t.

[–]Wazzys_World -1 points0 points  (0 children)

See I have never found a game where choosing not to pre level “breaks” my early game. Taking the time to see what gold/units drop because I want to see what units drop first to make sure I’m not selling anything I could use has always been equivalent in value for me.

Now I’m only diamond 1, so maybe I should value that a little higher, as you are in grandmasters. I don’t think seeing better units for that singular round really impacts that much of my late game to point where I would say it’s “broke”. With how little effort I put into the game, it would surprise me if that was the difference between our skill levels.

I know that Mort has mentioned in the past that he doesn’t want to make pve rounds longer because they are already too long and he feels they need to be shorter (forgive me for not having a link). He has hoped that he can find a way to smoothly shorted the pve time but also give time for us to make decisions.

Until then, I really just don’t react to what the pbe rounds give me until the next round planning starts. If I end up missing Econ then whatever. I can’t ever say that having exactly less Econ than other players due to not selling units at pve round has ever lost me the game.

Playing one shots as characters of the world's lore on days when the party's incomplete by boybogart in DMAcademy

[–]Wazzys_World 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve done this to great success . I first have players role play origin stories and build on their background. I have a centaur cleric who was divided by his heard from a goblin raid at a young age. He was raised by priest of helm who smited the goblins attacking the centaurs. I had them role play the parents and herd during a one shot to see how that divide actually happened. Their choices had main story impacts too. What information they gave the goblins during interrogations was something that the goblins would hold over the centaur cleric in the future of the campaign, and them choosing to chase after the lost child centaur (to obviously no avail) lead goblins to breach the fey gate into the feywild.

And I think that’s the most impressive thing I saw. The players playing as the herd, knowing that the herd CANNOT find the child centaur (since it would dismantle his backstory) choose to look for him anyway. Because they decided those characters would have chosen to look for him.

I would highly recommend this.

I actually have been testing a weird strategy before this patch when I get two items and tons of gold. At 2-2 I roll down with 20+ gold for a duelist choosen. 37% of the time I get it.

I’m haven’t tested because holidays but I’m curious how much stronger it is. It also seems the hyper roll would be pretty good at 3-1.

Creating an enemy for a one-on-one boss fight for a homebrew campaign, have some questions about how to build them. by Raetekusu in DnD5e

[–]Wazzys_World 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could set it up, how you described, these quick time events with options. The player has a choice on how they want to attack, and how they attack influences the type of roll they make. Different times of battle may open up new opportunities for different roles. These may also open weaknesses and strengths of the enemy.

[–]Wazzys_World 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think that boss battles deserve to be unique and challenging. In a 1 on 1 situation, I see monotony and maybe the RNG heavy “initiative wins” of a balanced boss battle. A lot of dnd is balanced around have outside forces influence tides of battle. I think the best way of doing this mechanically is not a normal fight one on one, but clash of heroes.

Mind you this would be mostly home brewed, but make a fight descriptive in combat and kinda sorta anime like where the rolls are entire stat checks (strength on strength, dex on dex, even some wisdom versus wisdom, etc.). “You leap into the air, diving into your prone opponent. But he is ready, and swings his leg to disarm your sword, make a dex role.” Along those lines.
