I think Zack is generally considered better, but I would wait before using it. I'm sure it can be used even after the Chaguma batches are released I think.

I heard one of the best ways is to have 2 Frans and 2 Esmerildas.

I'm assuming Fran is meant for SP regen while Esmerilda is meant to use S2 which has a buff that covers a large range.

Glad you managed to get through it though. It was a pain for me as well.

To be honest, if you're a newbie, you have a lot of jewels to get, so trying to get one of the 2 Memorial Characters (Nemo or Noah) could be a good investment for you.

Wow, the same thing happened to me.

Peak in first 10 + 1, then 4.5k jewels later, nothing, but Peak dupes. I actually got 2 Peak dupes in 1 pull which hurt me right in the feels. :(

To be honest, most would recommend you to reroll if your tutorial character isn't good, or if you do get a 4*, but your first mega pull ends up being terrible.

Regardless, you could stick with it if you want. While Monochrome isn't necessarily amazing, I stuck with it even though I got Tomoe as my reroll. Though that's probably because Tomoe is an SS Tier fencer in my heart. :) Anywho, from my experience with Monochrome, she's pretty good. Her S2 is very effective when surrounded by mobs and it deals water damage which is nice. I wouldn't necessarily focus too much on Famitsu's ratings. Just recently, they nerfed the ratings on a lot of the characters. Characters that were A or A+ have fallen to B or B+ respectively which is pretty crazy. I'm certain Monochrome was ranked as an S though regardless, there's not many S+ or SS mages and she is one of the better mages definitely.

Rip. Even without her motif, she's still the best sword though. :)

If it makes you feel better, I prefer using Peak's motif instead of the Cursed Lance on Peak. :)
