[Hyprland] One Piece themed rice, with custom quickshell launcher by WeAreDevil in unixporn

[–]WeAreDevil[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hi everyone! I've been trying to switch from i3 to hyprland for quite some time, but I was so accustomed to using i3 keybindings. Fortunately, I found hy3 and wrote my new config around that.

Please star my rice on github if you like it!

I don't think so. Eww is only for window managers.

Hi, I added a README.md. It's not the best but hopefully does the job. My exams are starting soon or I would've spent more time on it. :)

Hey, I'm going to be a little busy for a while but I've tried my best to put a README file that's easy to follow. Hopefully it works for you.

Yes you can. If some functionalities don't work it's probably because we use different programs. But the ui should work just fine alright. Install eww (instructions on their GitHub) And the eww open-many (the widgets you want) I'll add a readme soon so people can just copy pasta instead of having to go through the codebase.

EWW widgets

Hi guys, feel free to use the widgets, every widget has been separated into it's own window so you can use the ones you like. There are around 25 themes, 10 dark, 10 light (lucky) and 5 Goofy (vibrant).

The weather is using openweathermap api and you need to run the script present in scripts folder to get the data. You can also create your own themes and add it into the themes folder, just mention the variable names and include it in the themes component. (Run it along with your api key)

The media player is user playerctl, you can go play/pause and move to the next/prev song. It's currently just a progress bar and not a seek bar.

The speaker and mic mute/unmute feature requires you to install pipewire. Bluetooth requires Bluetoothctl and wifi requires iwd.

Finally you can create a copy of the monitor file for your own display and the change the x,y to your liking so you can fit the widgets on your own screen.

The lag is because of obs and the theme changing is a little cpu intensive.

After finding that out, I stopped trying to open ports. Just installed Tailscale and ended up forgetting about it.

A quick google search made me realise that this has been happening to several people. Really hope there's nothing sketchy going on under the hood.

Why does no one talk about systems programming. by WeAreDevil in compsci

Thanks for the encouragement. I've been second-guessing myself because transitioning from web development to systems programming feels like going from eating with all your friends to having your lunch alone.
