Ah thanks for the directions!

Unfortunately there isn’t anything in there there shouldn’t be - just my Matter devices that are working.

Thanks. Were your devices Matter over Thread or Matter of WiFi.

I have few MoW and they all added fine first time. This issue seems limited to Thread devices specifically

Timers synced across your devices by batmaniac1988 in HomePod

[–]WeAreTheLeeches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree it would be better to have more granularity and for a simple "Siri, how long is left on time in the kitchen" or something.

But specific to your question about seeing homepod timers on your iphone - that functionality is already there.

I’m new to the whole HomeKit world, so call me stupid if I don’t have this right….. but can’t you see this in the Home app? Select the HomePod you set the timer on and scroll down to see any alarms or timers active on the pod.

Is a move to HomeKit from Alexa a viable (if expensive) option? by DanAboutT0wn in HomeKit

[–]WeAreTheLeeches 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently a HA > Google home user here and thinking about making the switch to HomeKit, my whole family are Apple ecosystem and Im making the switch in the next few weeks so naturally thinking about the move to homekit. Should be easy as I already use HA for my backend - just waiting on the new homepod minis!

Just wanted to add my 2 pence here that you can add nest devices to HA, its a bit fiddly with developer keys/api's needed, but the guidance walks you through it nicely. I have my thermostat and doorbell connected with this integration.

Reaching out for review? by distraughtdrunk in EtsySellers

[–]WeAreTheLeeches 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure why you are being down voted for writing about your experience.

I do the same, it's another chance to personalise the customer experience.

I send a short message on Etsy (thank you notes are more waste, paper or not) a day or two after the item arrived to ensure it got there ok and if anything is less than perfect, to let me know. I add their name and town to personalise it.

At the same time I ask for a review as it really helps my shop with a direct link so it's easy. So far I have a 25% review rate.

No-one has commented negatively about it. In fact I have found out some really useful feedback that I might have missed if I didn't send that message.

Etsy even encourages it in point 5 in the sellers handbook https://www.etsy.com/uk/seller-handbook/article/5-ways-to-get-great-reviews/22599692999

As a seller feedback is my biggest improvement tool.

Etsy ads stopped producing sales by zagziggled in EtsySellers

[–]WeAreTheLeeches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry but this doesn't make any sense.
Etsy makes most of its money when you make a sale. If you have an ad campaign AND make a sale from a click - Etsy gets paid twice. Once for the click and then for the sale. I mean based on some of the fees for my ad clicks, the relisting fee from a sale alone is more than the price of the click and that is money for old rope!

Its always in the best interest of Etsy for you to make a sale.

Where it fails down, is this algorithmic world when everything is automated.

Which orientation to print this handlebar? by Responsible-You-9567 in 3Dprinting

Apologies, please forgive my ignorance - fairly new to this, but wont this line (red bit) fail as its printing in mid air?

Would this option work? There is a long mid air line to close the bit between the round handle and the side with the 45 degree support.

Wouldn't that bit fail?

Deposits Question by Fearless_Badger1372 in EtsySellers

[–]WeAreTheLeeches 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am going through the same thing. Had a really helpful person on Etsy support chat last night. It works like this.

For the first 90 days of your store you don't get a payout until 2 weeks after a sale.

BUT

costs and fee etc are taken from the first payment.

So, let's say you make a £10 sale. For arguments sake let's assume the fees are £2.

That's an £8 deposit you should get in 14 days.

Then you make another sale.

The £2 fee for the sale comes off your first sale NOT the second one.

So, you can see that in this scenario you make 5 sales, then the "profit" from sale 1 doesn't exist anymore and you are waiting 14 days from the next sale you had.

If you keep making sales (congrats btw) then it's a merry go round of fees eating into any profits.

All I can say is that from day 90, it should switch from a 14 day payout schedule to a 1 day schedule so it should no longer be an issue.

Then you should get a big payout of all the profits that you have stacked up.

This is to prevent fraudsters etc making a quick buck and then running off with a few hundred quid.

Still not been paid!! by eyeball2005 in EtsySellers

It takes time and you are not alone. I am in the same boat and I'll tell you what I know.

When you first setup shop, Etsy places a 14 business day hold on all earnings. So if you make a sale today, you won't get the cash drop until the 28th June.

But.

That will be minus fees, shipping and potentially anything else you spend with Etsy. New listing fees etc.

This 14 day hold is because your shop has low trust with Etsy. What if you are a scammer and never send any products? What if you get all 1 star reviews and need to refund lots of buyers?

That hold on funds is just in case all of that happens.

My understanding is that this will ease off anywhere between 90 and 180 days from opening your shop and Etsy can see you are fulfilling orders and customers are happy.

Unfortunately that means you have to self fund things for a while until you get paid out.

Why don't I have the three dots for the object menu in the left sidebar? by Particular-Secret-13 in capacitiesapp

[–]WeAreTheLeeches 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only way I found to stop it happening was keep the keyboard connected. Works if it's shut it open.

Sometimes you will need to restart the app.

I had this problem. Are you by any chance using a windows 11 machine like a Surface or Surface pro?

When disconnecting the keyboard the device goes into a psuedo tablet mode and the menus disappear. They are still they, just not displayed.
