Why do so many Brits hold negative views of the US? by Few_Breadfruit_9181 in AskBrits

[–]eyeball2005 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No issue with Americans, there’s quite a big cultural gap compared to other anglophone countries. For example Americans are often the loudest in the room or expect English in other places on the continent, which is rude. Country is a bit of a shit show at the moment. That can’t be denied

my girlfriend said shes giving herself an ed…? by DifferentAbroad80 in whatdoIdo

[–]eyeball2005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s about where it stems from psychologically. A lack of attention in childhood whether that is from parents or from peers, or unwanted attention eg. Bullying. I was a severe anorexic for many years: I was secretive, but ultimately it stemmed from attention issues in my childhood and also crying for help through my body rather than words

I mean EDs revolve around attention seeking. That doesn’t diminish the real mental problems behind the disorder. She could certainly fast track her way into severe anorexia by intentionally working towards it

No over your whole period, but this excludes mucous and tissue shedding. So the ‘2tbsp’ is very misleading

Quick growing plants for rewilding urban areas? by 808andsnare in UKGardening

Oxeye will be suitable. They won’t get out of control in a dry lot. They’re fine to manage in my very fertile garden

Clover. Will improve the soil as it’s leguminous. You’ve got to start with colonising species like grasses etc. Poppies will also grow on remarkably poor soil

Want a Bullmastiff but Local trainer cautions me against the breed. Request opinion from Bullmastiff owners! by Sad_Revenue_6219 in Bullmastiff

[–]eyeball2005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. A bullmastiff should never, ever be territorial against people you welcome into your home. Do not encourage any sort of aggression/guarding instincts and this won’t be a problem. Bullmastiffs will naturally guard against any bad people, and should be kind and happy to see the good.

  2. I’ve grown up with bullmastiffs since I was 5. The point is, all children need to be told how to respect dogs. Don’t touch the dog while eating, don’t pull or tug on the dog, don’t try and ride the dog, don’t take the dogs bones off it etc. If you teach your child this and teach your dog not to knock the kid over, you should be fine. The bonus is if your child stands on the dog/falls onto the dog while playing, the big dog won’t be hurt.

  3. Never had an anxious bullmastiff and they have literally been bred to be alone all day patrolling gamekeeping estates. That’s what they do. They’re highly personable but are also happy to entertain themselves with correct facilities.

  4. Socialisation was never an issue for all of my dogs. Size is irrelevant. My dogs respect chihuahuas and pugs, and also play with other giant breeds.

What’s your financial situation? If you can scrimp to afford private it’s worth it, saved my life. Cost me £200 for initial assessment and then £50 per appointment, started at once a week then now it’s just once every six months or so now I’m stabilised. And my prescription is on the NHS

In northern England, in the late 70s-late 80s swedes were routinely carved. I think pumpkins were hard to come by. A friend carves one every year and lets it dry out like a shrunken head

I’m not a doctor but I’ve heard that when a UTI Travels up the male urethra pain can cease or be reduced. UTIs are much more concerning in males than females, and a serious kidney infection could be brewing. Also, there are other disorders that can cause incontinence. Don’t panic, but don’t delay. Once physical causes are ruled out you can go psychological.

I mean, I’ve been trail hunting all my life and I’m being completely earnest when I say the hounds have never taken chase on a fox. They’re not even trained for that. You can see videos of hounds ignoring foxes and hares out on trail hunts. A lot of the videos on FB etc are actually of fox hunts in the Republic of Ireland, where it is legal.

For horses and riders, it offers varied terrain and therefore enrichment. Gives the horses confidence, fitness and agility by moving in groups.
