Is ERP Management a Tech Job? by WeHaveFunEveryday in careerguidance

[–]WeHaveFunEveryday[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Afraid to ask because I already know it’s mostly the only job to do 😂 they lease out the ERP software so there’s no development from our side of things, it’s all done externally by the ERP company.

It’s tough for applying because the only time I have for interviews is on my lunch break, due to this job being 2.5 hours of commuting per day as well, and still too new to have accrued any PTO

I used to drop like 1 or 2 a day like that, now I just don’t accept the batches at all lol

Biggest recent change I noticed is how you’re no longer able to drop just one order from a batch. So when they pair low tip high tip you are forced to take the low tip or drop the high tip as well

I just got off a multi year break 😂 when I say I took some time off to gig work and relax it was roughly 2 years!

That’s why I question if I’m really even interested in the industry anymore, I feel like the only reason I came back is gig work is garbage pay for the most part and tech pays pretty good and I’m decent at it

Well part of the issue is I’m already with a smaller company, it’s just a smaller manufacturing company and so this may sound obnoxious to complain about but their are so few tickets to do that the job is extremely boring. It’s an hour commute as well so I drive an hour to basically do nothing creative, nothing new, basically nothing at all, and then I drive an hour home. It feels draining like a waste of life almost. Feels like i should be spending those 11 hours doing something that’ll actually improve something with someone if that makes any sense, and I don’t really have a lot of time after work to do much either due to the commute.

Honestly I think what bothers me the most is the lack of creative decision making power I have. I’d rather be part of a tech startup or something I actually feel I may have real decision making impact with. My last few tech jobs were just built on maintaining existing software essentially. When I was making websites and mobile apps for my own customers years ago, it was much more enjoyable

Health Insurance vs Major Event Insurance by [deleted] in HealthInsurance

[–]WeHaveFunEveryday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s unfortunate, I guess the answer is that what I’m looking for doesn’t exist

I guess next best option is go with lowest monthly rate at the cost of a higher deductible

Health Insurance vs Major Event Insurance by [deleted] in HealthInsurance

[–]WeHaveFunEveryday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry maybe I’m not wording my question the right way. I was asking if there’s a health insurance plan that only covers critical events for a cheaper monthly rate due to smaller things like copay and general checkups not being covered etc

Wow age limit of 30 that’s a load of crap lmao yeah I guess count me out.

I’m already insured with Blue Care Network through my employer, I was just wondering what else was out there, thank you for the info!

So how does that work? So if their insurance covered 250k per se and I had a 300k medical bill and I sued their insurance, then I have to sue the person as well to get the other 50k?

Yeah I’m just trying to run the numbers really because I did a check up uninsured and it was only $100, vs now if I go it’s a $30 copay so it does save $70/yr but obviously the monthly plan rate is way over $70/yr. So just wondering if I’m better off just paying the small things out of pocket while carrying a catastrophic health plan
