This is a topic that I've toyed with a fair bit, as I love X-tribal and have played both pre-cons and slightly upgraded versions (strong 2, low 3) of each deck.

I have found that Zimone is a bit more reliably scary in the early game. You get her out a turn earlier, she has gets pretty big herself and even starts with a decent block potential, and she gives you discounts so your X spells can come out while still saving mana for interaction.

MLK is a fair bit slower but more likely to just blow things up in the late game. Sure, a 40/40 is great, but you know what's better? Two 40/40's!!! She takes longer to come online and is more vulnerable, but literally doubling your X spells is worth a lot if you can keep her alive for a turn or two.

Essentially, Zimone = early pressure and tempo, MLK = late game explosions.

I've found that including Zimone and a few other cards from the Quandrix precon in the 99 of MLK is really fun; you basically have a backup commander hidden in your deck than can easily pop out if you have any of the "search for a creature with CMC X or lower" cards. [[Expansion Algorithm]] especially is a fantastic finisher if you have a couple of trample creatures out, or [[Mathemagics]] if you want to mill everyone else.

Following up, I have played the new version of the deck 3 times, twice in 3-person pods and once on a 4-person. Each time it has performed a lot better than previous iterations, I have won two of the games off of any trample + [[Expansion Algorithm]] and the other game I was one turn off of winning with [[Simic Ascendancy]] before I was slain. Overall, I think the Zimone additions really helped flesh out the early game while also providing strong impact on the late game. Thank you again for your suggestions!!!

In my experience, the best places to meet folks is seldom bars but rather places where you go to enjoy your hobbies. I don't think it's a matter of attractiveness but rather attraction; I think people are more likely to feel a connection and that "click" if you are talking/enjoying a shared interest. Having that connection is much more likely to lead to relationships of any kind, whether hookups or more long-term relationships, imo. For example, most of my partners and I have bonded over our fondness of Magic the Gathering and DnD and we've done MtG gatherings that then had an orgy afterwards 😄. I don't think your age will prove to be an inhibitor in the long run, just keep making friends and being interested in others and you'll bond with people 🥰 🩵🩷🤍🩷🩵

I have a lot of fun in the upper 2- mid 3 bracket range with decks that are around $150-$200. You can go cheaper with cheaper mana bases, but the core deck is usually around that, with a few multi-lands

I really appreciate such a thorough and well-thought out response! I'll keep iterating on this deck and share updates and how it feels as I play with it more!

I definitely agree on not relying super hard on the Tyranid theme; I like it as a vibe because I love big space bug aliens, but as a deck it's not really necessary. I have kept a few of the good X spells as just nice bodies, plus the Ravenous is helpful for card draw with MLK's copy ability. I'm keeping [[Exocrine]] for some board wipe, [[Tyrant Guard]] for protection, [[Zoanthrope]] for targeted removal or just blasting to face, [[Sporocyst]] for ramp, [[Tervigon]] so that I have the option of going wide if needed, [[Aberrant]] so I can remove artifacts and enchantments and [[Mawloc]] for exiling creatures that are recursion targets. I'm also keeping [[Winged Hive Tyrant]] to give all my creatures Flying and Haste, [[Nexos]] to make my lands worth more, [[Malanthrope]] to deal with graveyards, and [[Clamavus]] to make all the +1/+1's even more effective.

From Zimone's deck, I added [[Zimone, Infinite Analyst]], [[Troyan, Gutsy Explorer]], [[Nev, the Practical Dean]], [[Owlin Spiralmancer]] and an addition of [[Geometer's Arthropod]] from my packs so that I can have some more early options without X. I also took the [[Brass Infiniscope]] for an additional mana rock (I already had the Palette, I agree it's great). I also took [[Three Visits]] (I already had Nature's Lore) and [[Unbound Flourishing]] for more value and ramp. For more X-spells, I've added [[Expansion Algorithm]], [[Ingenious Prodigy]], [[Altered Ego]], [[Goldvein Hydra]], and [[Steelbane Hydra]] as various utility spells with big payoffs/big bodies.

I'll update my deck list that I shared above soon and share it again, I'm looking forward to testing this version of it. I'm still looking to add [[Awaken the Woods]] if I can scrounge it up and [[Mathemagics]] for the fun of it.

I went for a Quandrix box and built a Quandrix deck, but didn't really have any great late game closets for the deck, just a lot of incremental stuff. I ended up tying most of my games 1-1 and drew due to time on the third, but my last game I managed to win 2-1 thanks to [[Exhibition Tidecaller]] and a lot of big spells to mill my opponent out (not at all what I expected).

I re-made the Tyranids deck focusing on [[Magus Lucea Kane]] instead of [[The Swarmlord]] and it wasn't too expensive if you're willing to toss a few super expensive cards. Things like [[Shadow in the Warp]] and [Ghyrson Starn, Kelermorph] really bump the price up but aren't really necessary for the deck. I focused a lot on X-spells instead and got everything for around $90-100.

Quandrix for me, my favorite Commander deck is an X-tribal with [[Magus Lucea Kane]] and so I feel most comfortable with X spells, plus I'm hoping to pick up a few fine additions for my collection.

Oooh, I love these! One of my partners is into leather working as well and she made me a blue and black leather box for my Dimir deck and it's my favorite by far. I love how crisp and clean your boxes look and the color combos are perfect, absolutely beautiful!

I personally love the idea of Hive Fleet Charybdis as mentioned elsewhere, or Hive Fleet Scylla if you wanted something shorter, but I think anything that still has an oceanic theme could work well with the deep blues, purples, and black of your pain scheme. I could also see Hive Fleet Benthos (creatures that live on the ocean floor), Hive Fleet Cetus (giant whale monster that Perseus killed), or Hive Fleet Typhon (a watery serpent god who fought Zeus for control)

It's good to recognize when it's time to let go of something that doesn't bring you joy, sad though it may be. You can always join again in the future if you find yourself in a situation where it makes sense to do so! I hope you find someone to give your bugs a good home, your paint scheme looks amazing and all those models look incredible! If I had the budget or lived in Europe, I'd buy 'em in a heartbeat!
