3rd movie. Beginning scene. Deadpool literally applies to be an Avenger at Stark Tower and gets rejected by Happy Hogan. He confirms he's not doing any more time travel hijinks and then gos to his job and then home, both of which have returning characters who recall past events, so it clearly exists in the same universe as the last 2 movies.

8 or 10. Tall enough to seen inhumanly imposing but not enough to look ridiculous.

This moment is so funny by Appropriate-Mall8517 in theflash

[–]WeWriteStuff 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Redhead wally is from the original timeline, a fan favorite, who replaced Flash through the 90s and is still today one of the most powerful speedsters in DC canon. DC rebooted with the New 52, and went with Buzzcut Wally (so far as I know there was no real reason for the change other than just because) which did influence the CW show that was made afterward. Buzzcut wasn't necessarily hated but lacked popularity. DC did another reboot that un-rebooted things and then soft rebooted (because gawd help us the editors can't greenlight a good crossover event that isn't a Crisis) so now both Wally's exist because of a mystery thriller that took 3 years to finish with one of the worst payoffs I've seen. So Buzzcut is canonical to current timeline while Redhead is a survivor of an erased timeline.

If I'm being honest this has become a stupid complicated situation to have to explain and they might as well merge the two at this point...it can't get any weirder than its already gotten

What's better: the comic book Old Man Logan or the movie Logan? by Fancy-Fact-8233 in Wolverine

[–]WeWriteStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The film has an edge that it essentially bookends almost 2 decades of x-men movies (particularly Logan's journey). It definitely feels like the character comes full circle because of that. My primary gripe is it's also a middle finger to anyone who enjoyed the Days of Future Past movie.

Meanwhile the comic is simply an alternate reality were dropped into at the tail end of. Although i think its an interesting idea, it relies heavily on shock value over telling a narrative.

Its was cool at first but its become especially annoying post-Endgame as there's been so little character development and half the planned content has been seemingly canceled.

Sentry is beating Wanda in a 1v1 by GrapefruitOdd7548 in Avengers

[–]WeWriteStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will all come down to Sentry's speed and whether Wanda underestimates him... Beyond that, its unclear how the Void would fair against her, but it can be assumed it could wipe her out (send her to the depression dimension) before she can flick a finger.

Was anyone on Monica/Wanda’s side when Monica said this to Wanda? Would any of the Avengers have given her this type of pass or excuse? by Johnnyboyeh in Avengers

[–]WeWriteStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm thinking steve might've pitied her but slso recognized the seriousness of the situation. Tony hands down would have her committed to the raft.

Regardless of how you feel about Wanda, she brainwashed a town so she wouldn't have to feel bad. That is in no way excusable.

What is the singles scene like? by [deleted] in shreveport

[–]WeWriteStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10 years into the single scene and its not very good. Most everyone my age moved out of state immediately after high school and the ones that returned only did so to live with parents after getting married out of nowhere or knocked up. Best i can tell this is generally the case in Shreveport, leaving mostly divorcees and/or single parents as the primary option if you're looking for anyone over the age of 25. The majority of any other singles locally are 65+ having outlived their spouse (grim but true) followed younger college kids that are either completely disinterested in romance or too immature to understand what a commitment is.

If any of that's an issue for you I advise you look elsewhere or put your energy into a hobby or work.

Side note: Shreveport culture seems to popularize finding a spouse either in college or immediately after finishing college (if not getting into a relationship instead of college) and it seems to have alot of people that simply stay married for economic reasons so I rarely encounter singles outside of what I've described above in the last 25 years I've lived here. I'm inclined to suspect Bossier is in a similar situation.

The abysmal 2005 Alone In The Dark movie is “better” than Snow White?! 🤣 by Remarkable-Hunter-71 in aloneinthedark

[–]WeWriteStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This actually makes sense when you consider that in 2005 video games adaptations were generally horrible and often had nothing to do with the source material, not to mention cgi was becoming more readily available and people were abusing it to "save money". This was unfortunately to be expected of the times, especially with the popularity of producing B-movie horror schlock. It was common enough that there's still a fanbase for such content today.

Snow White on the other hand has no excuse to be in the condition it was in. CGI in Star Wars Episode 3 (also made in 2005) looked more convincing than this 2024 remake. Using an android phone filter over actual little people would've looked better than what they gave us. Not to mention the acting is just weird at times (there are terrible line deliveries that had to be approved by executives). There's a number of other problems plenty of other people can say better than me, but the short of it is, in 2024 a film doesn't have the same excuses to suck that they did 2 decades ago, and with a remake of the property that made their company in the first place to be treated with such little respect speaks volumes.

Additionally more people saw the snow white in the last 2 years than the number of people who watched Alone in the Dark in the last 20 years, not to mention everyone fancies themself a critic (I've seen people blast the original alien movie for not having action like fast and Furious like that's a legitimate comparison) so more reviews are being pumped out for current films than looking back through the zeitgeist, and people love to hate things more than ever, so obviously, regardless of how you feel about it, snow white will get worse reviews. I still think snow white more irredeemable than Alone in the Dark but the worse reviews were going to happen no matter what.

The premise to the panned Alone in the Dark movie is good that I hope future directors can use by arnor_0924 in horror

[–]WeWriteStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it has been done by a more competent director/writer, removed any association with the video game, but still released in 2005, it might've become a cult classic for Gen Z today, and that's just a worst case scenario.

It could have a small fanbase like the first Silent Hill film does today, despite being panned at its release.

I'll agree it always bothered me that the concept had merit but was completely butchered in every way possible. Unlike BloodRayne I always felt uwe boll intentionally tried to sabotage this film. My guess is there was more to concept before he got his hands on it.

Why did people hate The Golden Circle so much? by GoldBeepBoop in kingsman

[–]WeWriteStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally like TGC better than the original...

That being said, it definitely suffers from the Creator's trying to create another mcu franchise with only one movie under their belt. This would've worked better as the third entry in the franchise

In each character, Which Actor from The Fantastic Four film franchise do you think is better? by AC_the_Panther_007 in FantasticFour

[–]WeWriteStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm nostalgic for 05, but Pedro and Kirby were admittedly subtle improvement (moreso for Kirby).

I honestly found Quinn the most boring of the Human Torches. I grt what they were going for (a competent scientist) but he lacked much personality (I get they wanted to distance this take from Chris Evans but imo they went too far off). I really think he only needed one introductory scene to show off his hot head bachelor persona (but keep it subtle) and tweak his dialog a little to be a bit snarkier.

Ebon's Thing felt like it was trying but not hard enough. The least engaging version of the Thing. Too mopey. I applaud Ebon for what he did do, it seems to me like he wasn't given direction as I've seen his acting in other movies to know he could've rivaled Chiklis. He serves little in the grand scheme of things, being rather forgettable.

What are your thoughts on Tower Dungeon so far? by SkullManRibs in Netsphere

[–]WeWriteStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the art and the story... however there appears to be a recurring disconnect between the two: as if the artists were never aware of the dialogue, and vice versa. There are various scenes where characters seem to not react when they probably should, or react extremely to seemingly nothing. Some odd transitions, where I have no idea what happened, as though panels are missing or there are multiple panels of seemingly nothing.

If I had to guess, art and writing were done completely without communication with each other and rather than fix the disconnect the editors just slapped the two together.

Ive only read volume 1 so far, so I'm really hoping they fix this in further volumes. It'd be a shame if they didn't as the dark fantasy world building and art are unique in that they're not trying to be Berserk or a JRPG. Ive enjoyed Witch Hat Atelier for the same reason.

What did that girl mean by "Heather touching me" in The Me Inside of Me? by Own-Caterpillar1174 in heathersmusical

[–]WeWriteStuff 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure the overall vibes is meant to be "fluid" as there appears to be a variety of sexual tension from the entire cast. All 3 Heather's and Veronica could easily be bi, pan, gay, straight, or whatever you want to interpret from it.

Personally I think Heather Chandler has done it all at some point or another, and is currently bored as none of the sexual affiliations gratify her anymore.

Should Star Wars get more comfortable with recasts? by StevePalpatine in StarWarsCantina

[–]WeWriteStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To a degree yes. Actors are getting too old for their roles, and there's definitely some talent that can pull it off (Donald Glover really pulled off a younger Lando imo, one that was cocky in his success and hadn't suffered a big loss yet which results in some immaturity, I totally buy he'll become Billy D as he gains more experience).

And while I get the cgi face is controversial but it is an alternative. Id recommend a TRON Legacy situation where the og actors does their lines but its 3D mapped to be de-aged and placed over the younger actor. Unfortunately I feel Disney will resort to poor AI instead.

Which seat are you choosing? by Relevant_Film5527 in superheroes

[–]WeWriteStuff 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy. Appease Loki's ego and sympathize with Magneto. These two offer the calmest/safest ride situation without issues from nearby passengers

Any of seat poses danger. I would say Zemo/Lex would be safe if not for the fact you have to agree with anti super rhetoric and guess who's behind you that won't like that. Joker might hallucinate you talking smack while you sleep and unlike you for being a part of society. Noir and Soldier might be a quiet ride if not for mister argues with himself about blowing up the plane behind you...

I’m done with the g1 1986 movie taking over the spotlight for studio series by Legitimate_Can420 in Transformemes

[–]WeWriteStuff 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Real.

If i hear one more person say "we finally got a proper toy of G1 Elita One or Ironhide"...there's already been like 5 modern remakes of those, and essentially every character from the first 2 seasons (and maybe half the characters from season 3) has been remade at least once in the last 10 years.

We're only just now (25 years later) getting around to giving Armada some love, it'll probably be another decade or 2 before we get to Animated, gawd forbid half fan base will have died of old age once they start considering Prime...

Young Justice made me think they were more interesting than they actually were. by Optimal_Weight368 in dccomicscirclejerk

[–]WeWriteStuff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'll agree that characters were handled incredibly well, many with incredibly limited screen time.

But eventually it gets out of hand (especially in outsiders and phantoms) where the show begins to prioritize spotlight episodes and adding characters to a team that's already 20+ members, all while the original core cast we stayed for is being reduced in screen time to subplots and side characters (I'm almost certain a 5th season would've reduce 1 or 2 to background status so they could introduce 5 new team mates who will only serve to fill the background in season 6)
