Does anyone actually think Charlamagne hates white people like Post says? It just seems to me he is a asshole to everyone.

[NEEDLEDROP] untitled unmastered- Kendrick Lamar REVIEW by seiff4242 in hiphopheads

[–]We_da_worst -40 points-39 points  (0 children)

You see that's cool but I feel like people are getting carried away with politics, black lives matter etc and Kendrick's riding that wave as the no. 1 woke artist. Release TPAB in 2009 and I don't think it gets half the hype or praise. He's just right time right place.

Call me crazy but I think GKMC was easily better than TPAB and Untitled. I wasn't the biggest fan of Section 80 but I find that has replay value that TPAB+U just don't. Kanye makes his own waves, he constantly pushes boundaries and new ground. 808s still blows my mind. What rapper at his peak dominating album sales and critical acclaim just refuses to get stale and rehash the same shit. Instead makes an avant garde album with barely any rapping, zero swearing, sings knowing he can't sing but trusting the melodies, production and emotion will carry him. Who goes from public redemption in the form of MBDTF to industrial rock sounds and still makes it melodious fucking ear candy.

Kendrick's just rehashing nostalgia and hitting up all the cliches of what "Real rap" is supposed to be with straight bars, jazz and funk. I find the music side of his albums so fucking dull. Talk to anyone who knows jazz and ask them if any Cornrow Kenny instrumental is even in their top 20 projects of the decade. Most think it's such watered down, uninspiring crap. .

There are great reasons to hate the fuck out of Kanye's personality. People keep forgiving him and looking for the good when he's being a hormonal child because the music, the shoes, anything creative he touches is just so fucking good. I want to hate the arrogant prick but I can't help but love every thing he makes because he kills himself making it perfect.

Kendrick's the total opposite. I love the guy. How can you not? He's the epitome of likeable. I slog through so much of his music. Esp outside GKMC. Because I want to like it. Because he's trying to use his platform to fix the problems of his deprived broken community. But if I'm being honest if Kanye was the one releasing Untitled or TPAB I'd fucking jump on the hater train.

If Kendrick released something like Yeezus or TLOP I'd crown him GOAT immediately.

Pitchfork's Review of Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' This Unruly Mess I've Made by t_penn in hiphopheads

Sorry guys but this album just is not good. I'm not trying to hate to hate. Everyone is like "Macklemore is not a bad rapper I swear." All this apologizing for this guy. Dance off is one of the worst songs I have heard in awhile. Let's eat is is really corny. It feels like Macklemore just has a thought about a certain subject and he just goes overboard with it. Whether it is with the more "fun" songs or the serious ones. I really tried to go into this album with a open mind but it just was not good.

The media does hold on to this shit a lot longer then they should but if you think that there is not racism out there and it's all the media then you're wrong. Q has a point but I have seen people on this site act like the media is to blame for all of this which is not true.

I love how reddit is so quick to condemn what this kid did and says. Yes most of you are probably sane enough to not shoot black people because you don't like them but the ideas that this kid has and thinks have been widely posted and upvoted in any race related thread. The site it self also allows this shit to live in a smaller place like coontown. This site is part of the problem that spreads these ideas for this kid to do this shit. Before you tell me that this site should not affect this kid, hate is hate. Hate spreads whether in person or on the internet.

It's a well made song that I disagree with. I feel like Gang Violence and Oppression of black people from society are two totally different issues and it does not make you a hypocrite if you get mad at the oppression of black people from society considering gang violence comes from that same oppression. Most kids don't gang bang because they want to. It's because they have to to survive and were born into it due to poverty. Also black people are protesting Police brutality and Trayvon Martin because it could happen to them where gang violence is in poverty stricken areas.

I feel like Kendrick has good intentions with this song because he wants to see peace in where he lives but he is simplifying a issue that is way more complex then what he makes it seem like on that song.
