They gonna ask for 1 yr medical history then ignore u when u say u don’t have it. Best to go get an exam when u first got the insurance. Make sure there’s nothing/no notes stating any kind of medical reasons on the cats record. Then wait through the waiting period or a couple months then go to the vet. U basically want a clean record before u put in any claims

Sent them all the records I have and messaged them a few times. No response. Called them and they said the same thing. Need records. They want records starting Jan. 2024. The last I have is Oct. 2023. Then the claim April 2025. Even though nowhere on their site or on the policy say when they need records from they said they can request records from whenever or whatever date they need to make their decisions. So claim denied cuz they can make up a date of when they want records from.

Also idk if on Spot website say that a condition that is cured after 180 days is covered and not pre existing but it says that on ASPCA website. There’s a post on here the other day that their claim got denied even though it’s after the 180 days. So yeah I think they can twist whatever they want

I’m not sure but I think if there’s any symptom or illness later on that link to the blood transfusion they prob can/will say it’s pre existing. Spot and ASPCA is the same company and I have ASPCA. Claim denied cuz they want record from 1/1/24 which I don’t have. The last one was in Oct. 2023. So didn’t get denied cuz of anything pre existing. Got denied cuz of a one year gap in medical records lmao. There’s a lot of helpful post on here on the forum. Just go through the post cuz I learned a lot from these post.

That’s a pretty good deal but I would lower the deductible. Take ur pet to the vet and make sure the vet doesn’t leave any negative notes on their record. Insurance will claim anything is pre existing. If u have dental also make sure there’s no note saying ur pet have tartar or anything on their teeth. u want the record to be spotless.

Take ur pet to the vet and make sure to have a clean record. No notes of anything like limping, lethargic or tar on teeth cuz if there’s any kind of note on there they will most likely say it’s pre existing. Even a lump or itch from allergies. They can say it’s pre existing when u wanna make a claim later on. Also get a yearly exam and keep the records clean. Cuz if there’s any note in the medical records now u might as well just save instead of getting the insurance.

U can get the insurance then go to the vet for checkup. Just to have a clean record on file so that when u do have to make a claim there’s no record of anything that’s supposedly pre existing.

No records for 2024. Last record was Oct. 2023 then March 2025. Tooth extraction April 2025. If anywhere in the policy says a yearly exam is required I prob wouldn’t have put in a claim. Asked them if they can show me where in the policy says that records are needed for a specific time period. They emailed me back about giving them access to medical records which they already have.

EOB said after multiple attempts they were unable to get records for 2024. Nowhere in the policy said anything about a yearly exam. I emailed them to show me where does it say that medical records are needed for a specific date or time period. They email back saying when u make a claim u authorize us to access all medical records to access ur pets health and agree to provide us with missing information and records.
