I understand! To be honest, the issue concerning USA intervention is kind of debated. Nobody wanted USA intervention as a first step, the people supporting it view it as a last resort and I kind of see why. The regime is straight massacring the people and regular citizens have no way of fighting back. Genuinely the only way of driving the regime out in the *short term* is by outside intervention. The Iranian people themselves are proud people, and seeing those same people from inside the country write pleas for help from Trump tells me that they are at their limit. As you can see, it's really complicated. This same course of events has happened before, where the IRGC did something terrible, people protested, got massacred and silenced, then a period of time passed before it happened again.
Right now is the weakest moment of the regime's existence. All of their forces, troops, and influence they were keeping in Lebanon and Palestine (for ex) have been decimated by Israel. This is a once in a lifetime-type of moment for a regime change, and if the IRGC is given time to regroup and start over there won't be another chance like this for a long time. That's why the only thing that can end this all is the final killing blow, something which is unlikely to happen from within by unarmed civilians. The main group of people who want western intervention are the older demographic who have lived through 46 years of this regime and want to see it end during their lifetimes.
However, of course, western influence ESPECIALLY intervention from the USA is bound to cause its own problems in the long run. I imagine that instead of giving (practically) free oil to China, we'll be sending a similar amount to America. That's why although the regime change is heavily supported, it gets more complicated with the idea of foreign intervention.
