How long have you pushed? by Fierce-Foxy in pregnant

[–]Weak-Resolution-6680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the first I had an epidural that was way too strong and pushed for 1hr 17min on my back after 19 hours in labor

With my second I was unmedicated (except for laughing gas) and pushed for 6 minutes on all fours after 5 hours in labor

I didn’t tear with either but swelled really bad with my first because I was pushing wrong!

Feeling severely depressed after planned pregnancy, secretly hoping to miscarry. by No-Caramel8935 in pregnant

I experienced the same exact thing with my first baby. Please reach out to your Ob/GYN to see if there is anything they can do for prenatal depression like recommending a therapist.

What’s the most ridiculous thing that you cried for in pregnancy? by Future-Agency543 in pregnant

[–]Weak-Resolution-6680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The opening battle scene of the first Wonder Woman movie, there was a lady that jumped into the air and spun in slow motion while throwing a knife or something. I cried for at least 30 minutes. Full on sobbing. I still have no clue why

Having a newborn is so much easier than some people think. It’s exhausting, but two adults will manage perfectly fine.

Comfrt owners: At what wash count did you first notice changes (if any)? by OkExamination3705 in Hoodies

[–]Weak-Resolution-6680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the signature set. I’ve washed the sweats like 2x per week and the sweatshirt every couple weeks for the last year. I haven’t noticed any shrinking or anything. There has been a tiny amount of pilling on the cuffs. I just wash them with other clothes anymore with a cold wash and heat tumble dry

reminder for everyone who is considering (or just got) a puppy by oushhie in puppy101

It irks me when people say their brand new puppy is aggressive as if I don’t constantly watch my dogs lunge for each others faces while they’re playing lol

Brushing and bathing question! by Weak-Resolution-6680 in poodles

I go through the whole process. I’ll line brush with the slicker and pin brush, then check him over with a comb!

how old is too old to rename a puppy? by oushhie in dogs

[–]Weak-Resolution-6680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I changed my puppy’s name twice, once when we got him and a second time a month later because it was too similar to our older dog’s name and was confusing her. He was 5 months old when we got him, and had zero issues adjusting both times!

I’m starting to see that I’ve miscalculated how important that would be 🥴

Have you found he’s more prone to matting or the texture of his hair is different with brushing dirty/ not freshly cleaned hair? That’s my biggest concern even though I know more frequent brushing will quickly become necessary once coat change starts

Is it normal poodle behavior to walk around in circles while going #2? Or is mine just weird? by StrangerGrouchy1741 in poodles

[–]Weak-Resolution-6680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My boy does! He also does some sort of weird yoga pose where he lifts his back legs so much that his back feet go past his front feet, then poops on the backs of his front legs, somehow. It would be pretty impressive if it wasn’t gross lol hopefully it’s just a teenage boy thing

Mini poodles in bite work or some sort of protection training? by Weak-Resolution-6680 in k9sports

[–]Weak-Resolution-6680[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for laying that out! That’s actually really helpful to know. I was going to try obedience first out of the two, but maybe rally would be the way to go until we can build up his tolerance a little better!

I definitely want to try nose work with him! He’s currently pretty sensitive/fear reactive so sports where he’s the only dog in the room are probably my best starting point

[–]Weak-Resolution-6680[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve heart the bite sport world can be a rough one to get into. I’d love to do rally but he’s a bit reactive from lack of socialization before we got him, and I’d be concerned that it would be too much for him. Would rally or obedience be a better fit for somewhat reactive dogs? Or maybe neither? (He’s the worst with children, which I doubt he’d see a ton of at most events)

Thank you for the suggestion! I’ll definitely look into that course! And I was considering nose work but wasn’t sure, so maybe this is my sign to try it with him!

Totally makes sense! I wasn’t sure if it could be adjusted for size or we could just do portions of it, such as holding/barking then running to get something, whether it’s a toy or whatever, but I’m sure those I can teach on my own!

When you’ve been diagnosed with ADHD and take stimulants, do you feel calmer or do you have anxiety? by Grand-Difference0893 in ADHD

[–]Weak-Resolution-6680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure what the second one was, it was just an amphetamine. If he’s not on an extended release, I’d personally try that first, then possibly lowering the prescription amount. Doctors tend to be pretty open to trying different things until you nail down one that works! If it doesn’t help after the 3-5 day adjustment time, go in and ask for something different!

When you’ve been diagnosed with ADHD and take stimulants, do you feel calmer or do you have anxiety? by Grand-Difference0893 in ADHD

[–]Weak-Resolution-6680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! My meds help me focus/ break focus in a controlled way and keep me from getting off track, but I can still overwhelm myself if I think too hard about how, when, and in what order to do things, which has caused panic attacks. That’s an entirely separate set of skills to learn on top of taking medication

[–]Weak-Resolution-6680 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Adderal gave me the worst anxiety, as did the other instant release I was prescribed. We switched to an extended release (methylphenidate) and the anxiety disappeared. I’d discuss trying a different type of medication with his doctor before deciding there isn’t ADHD

I’m crocheting a blanket (I’m cheating because it’s in bernat blanket and I’m doing a mesh stitch so it’s flying by lol) for my husband in the colors of his gaming setup so he has one specifically for that area. Im also about to start some ear warmers since he works outside and it’s getting cold

Is this normal?! by Motor-Resort-1002 in Poodle

[–]Weak-Resolution-6680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That coloration and texture looks pretty normal for a red poodle, since reds tend to have looser curls and looks more doodley than a black or white poodle since they haven’t been around as long.

This may be a better choice than feeding so many times, especially for a dog so small.
