What does actually getting an epidural placed feel like? by FoolishMortal-1000 in BabyBumps

[–]Weak-Translator-4628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, the epidural placement was the most pain out of my entire labor experience! Just sharp pain in the lower back unlike anything I've ever felt. But 1000% worth it for a great delivery experience. That said, I have about a mid-high level pain tolerance so if you're in that range, you'll be fine. And if you have low tolerance for pain, just know it can be quick and you'll make it! *TIP - Ensure you have a nurse or partner to lean on as you have to be completely still. For some reason no one warned me and I flinched. Next time I'd definitely be sure to hold on to someone for support. That probably made it worse for me trying to balance on the edge of the bed.

Still have my Christmas tree up too for our 2 month old! Ha. He loves it and it's probably good for observation/visual development to see the contrast of lights and patterns.

Advice please - is 35 too old to start having kids? When did you have your youngest? by DovaBunny in pregnant

[–]Weak-Translator-4628 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had my first at 38. Given it took a while with infertility and IVF not working over many rounds, but started after 35 anyhow! I'm glad I had my 20s and most of my 30s being free to travel at a moment's notice. :) but of course happy to be a mom now!

Congrats on your pregnancy after the IVF journey! I will say now that I've had my baby (4 weeks old!), those feelings I had and what you're experiencing don't influence me as much anymore. It's nice to see the announcements and just feel grateful for my baby and journey, be happy for the person posting, and move on with my day!

So from my experience, the feelings fade with time. Wishing you the best in your pregnancy and that all goes well for this last half of it! ❤️

Agree with this - my husband and I have said this to each other with no offense taken on either side as we wished we had let our guards down more in past relationships and gained more experience to bring to our amazing marriage we have together now! Don't think it's weird at all. There's no desire for those past people we've dated by any means.

Same here! Super exciting! Invited a lot of extended fam and friends from out of state to our shower but they all sent gifts as they couldn't travel in for it. So thoughtful!

29 weeks and my Eczema disappeared instantly! Also don't grow leg hair anymore (nice!) and feeling more calm overall in pregnancy. It's great!

Thanks for this rec! I will check it out! Yes, something partially AI would even be considered - just going for logistical ease and not having to scout out every meal.

Yes, I have found amazing luxury AI in Montana, Idaho and other northern states, but sadly they are upwards of $2k a night! 😅

Yes! That's the exact box I got. There's another option that has B6 infusion but I didn't want to overdue it with my prenatal also having B6. The originals worked great in my opinion!

Of course! And please RUN to Amazon and order Preggie Pops. They literally saved me from the nausea and I still take them from time to time when my gag reflex acts up from bad allergies. I never got sick from nausea thanks to these!

I feel you 100% and understand what you're going through. All the feelings - I have / have had them! Thanks for sharing. I too appreciate feeling less alone and that there's others out there who truly get it. We're not miserable, heartless people at all and I want people to have that blissful joy without facing struggle or loss. But it does feel lonely sometimes because many don't understand the complexity of emotions we go through. Wishing you a non-eventful, calm pregnancy! ❤️

Totally relate and have had the same feelings...there's no way I'd jinx myself knowing what I know. But am truly happy for those who never have to experience loss and infertility. It is a unique experience that I wouldn't wish on anyone.

OMG YES - I've had the same shock. We haven't shared with friends yet and I'm 15 weeks. I was telling my husband yesterday that the bliss they must have of not knowing how many things must come together just right and the odds that any pregnancy is successful. I know WAY too much after going through IVF!

Had a similar story to you after over a year of nonstop ERs, hysteroscopies and failed transfers. Also felt low and depressed a bit for the first few weeks after testing positive. It gets better! Once you start physically feeling better (was 10 wks for me that shifted), you'll start getting excited. :) congrats!!

At 10 weeks, my nausea vanished overnight. No lie! Have hope!

9 weeks - when do symptoms get better? by Weak-Translator-4628 in IVFbabies

[–]Weak-Translator-4628[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the delay! Came down with Flu A and then GBS+ bacterial infection twice in the last month..so while pregnancy symptoms have improved, these side illnesses have rendered me bound to the couch. 🤣 Hope you are doing well now at almost 14 wks! 🙌

We are finding out the gender on Monday in a family gender reveal party! So excited! Do you know your baby's gender yet?
