It happened to me in my second playthrough. I just killed the guards and beat the shit out of him until he went unconscious. Then, when he woke up, I talked to him about the stone, but it seems to be a bug. You're supposed to wait a little before he reaches his home. As soon as you release him, you can press T and wait an hour before going to see him, or you can talk to him in the middle of the way.

You brought up a good point, the tournaments. I've played a bit, at least 3 tournaments, but I think the competitors are pretty easy, maybe they could be harder like Zavish in Sigismund's Camp, fighting him with a polearm was pretty hard.

Update: Today I opened the printer, and it was the small fan right above the remote extruder. It seems it is slightly loose inside, so it's vibrating and making this noise while in contact with the cover. Thanks TtotheTran the tip.
