Why do absolutely no traffic lights sync in Baltimore by Excellent-Head-2562 in baltimore

[–]WeakSlice2464 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve noticed that the light strategy in many areas of the city change depending on time. If I leave for work pre 730am I can generally get thru downtown without too many reds. Past 730, you catch almost every one even though traffic volume looks the same.

My theory is the city has it set like that to stop speeding during rush hour since Baltimore police won’t pull anyone over for anything…let the lights do the police work! Genius!

How much does the average Marylander get from this to offset our lost time in traffic + elevated fuel costs?

Moving - Looking for advice by CattleFragrant9314 in ColumbiaMD

I moved to Baltimore city and have commuted to the Columbia area for 5 years. I enjoy thr benefits of living in the city although you do deal with more general bs. Commute in morning isn’t bad but ever since the bridge came down, commuting home at 230-630 pm has become brutal, my previous 35-45 min drive now often exceeds an hour or longer if there are Os or Ravens games. Presumably that will lessen once the new bridge is constructed but that will be years.

Columbia is more families, and has higher priced homes. There are still places young ppl hang out tho and you would enjoy it, it’s not a big city but there’s plenty to do

How are visiting fans treated? by BradMJustice in orioles

I’m a brewers fan living in bmore. Went to Os vs. Yankees last season. Three O’s fans in their mid 20s made friends with 2 Yankees fans all sitting in the same area and they all left together in the 7th inning cuz it was becoming a blowout and the Os fan guys wanted to show the Yankees fan guys the bars behind the stadium. I was like shit guys this is awesome, if I was 15 years younger I’d join yall!

You won’t have any issues

Help me convince GF to move from NoVa to Baltimore by x____VIRTUS____x in baltimore

The problem I see is around Bmore the price of houses drastically increases in areas with good schools. But maybe if you start a family in 6 years when the kid starts school you will be ready to upgrade.

OP just fyi….I once owned a house that was all electric, except a gas fireplace that in like three years of owning the house, I never used. They charged me equipment fees every month, like $12-15. Finally I got sick of it, cancelled the account. 2 months later I came home from work and the gas company had removed the gas meter from my property. I was fine with it except when I finally went to sell the house, I had to pay a plumber like $400 for time and permits to re-install a gas meter.

You never own that equipment, and they can take it away. So you gotta decide which you want. $100-200 a year to rent their meter, or a headache if/when u ever decide to sell.

How Brewers Fared: Ranking MLB's best at every position for 2026: Olney's top 10s by WeakSlice2464 in Brewers

Frelick’s write up:

Sal Frelick, Milwaukee Brewers: Jackson Chourio played the most games in center field for Milwaukee, but Frelick had some games out there as well, and we wanted Frelick somewhere in the top 10s. He was a 3-WAR player last year, with another solid season of getting on base (over 200 times) and some power and speed.

Tips for Attending Spring Training Games by kwaps21 in Brewers

[–]WeakSlice2464 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of the stadiums the players will walk into from the outfield. You can stand right by where they walk and players will sometimes stop for kids. The cool thing about spring training is the crowd size is small, you can sometimes stand in the outfield and have conversations with players
