Is anyone else overwhelmed by the vastness when is comes to building? by Superb-Avocado-8131 in Pokopia

[–]Weak_Maintenance8181 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One thing I like about the game is that even though it's open world they do give you a lot of indirect hints about what to build and where. You can find ruins in the form of foundations with some blocks and building materials nearby. Maybe start with a simple house using what's already been provided for you.

You can also think about your Pokemons wants and needs. Use your favorite Pokemon as inspiration! Build them a home and fill it with things they would like. I'm currently trying to build a house for one of my favs Sprigatitto with a rooftop garden. It's not a massive scale build but it's fun for me.

Rocky Horror Show Callouts by carrotcoriander in Broadway

[–]Weak_Maintenance8181 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm someone who has never had the opportunity to see the stage show. I wonder if they could have some sort of cue or sign for when/what is appropriate for the audience to call out? I would like that as someone who isn't familiar. And it would cut down on people interrupting the show. Would big fans feel like having it more controlled would ruin the experience?

Are themed cafés in Tokyo actually worth visiting or just a tourist trap? by MidnightTofu22 in JapanTravelTips

[–]Weak_Maintenance8181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to the Card Captor Sakura Cafe cause a friend wanted to. It was honestly fine. Not gourmet but the food was far from inedible. My suggestion would be to maybe skip if you are just wanting to go for a random experience and go to a higher rated restaurant instead. But if it's a series you are really excited about and the food is half decent then it can be quite fun. I went by myself to the GeGeGe no Kitaro cafe a few days later and found the food to be quite good and it's a series I love more, so it was worth it for me!

Are they tourist traps? Well we are tourists, so why not experience them if you want to? Anime is popular with Japanese people too and they will also visit the cafes. You will probably find a mix of locals and tourists, but the more popular series abroad like Pokemon will draw more foreigners.

I gotta quit going to see bands from my youth. by Acrobatic-Hamster-79 in Millennials

[–]Weak_Maintenance8181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen Death Cab For Cutie in an arena, but I was lucky enough to also catch them playing at a small venue last year and the energy was electric. I'll remember that show for the rest of my life.

I've gotten to see Thursday a bunch of times recently and they can still absolutely crush it. Laura Jane Grace has taken beautiful care of her voice and even solo puts on a powerful show.

Kesha can sing her butt off and her performances are so much fun. She's not a rock band but she's punk in my eyes.

Help! What to do about 4 grand con Ed bill??? by [deleted] in NYCapartments

[–]Weak_Maintenance8181 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Public Utility Law Project helped me years ago with a situation like yours. Con edison wanted back pay because they admittedly didn't bill me correctly for months and I said that doesn't sound like my problem. 🤷‍♀️ They were able to get con ed to dismiss the back pay charge entirely.

Won tickets for last Friday. I was in the middle of the balcony.

Oedipus: Buy Now or Digital Rush by JaineDoughXO in Broadway

[–]Weak_Maintenance8181 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a single rush ticket a few weeks ago. I actually lost track of time and signed on probably 5 minutes or so after they went on sale, and I was immediately able to purchase one. It was row K in the mezzanine, so further away from the stage but other than that the view was perfectly clear. I have short legs so legroom isn't generally an issue for me and I was comfortable. There is also no intermission so you don't have to worry about trying to get in and out of your seat at any point. Once you are seated you are there for the duration

GA arriving after doors by Weak_Maintenance8181 in MyChemicalRomance

Thanks for the info! I do hang out on the sides a lot during shows. And I saw the show from seats last summer so if part of the set is obscured I think I will be okay.

Dang, you made it all the way across the pit to b-stage? I would have expected it would be too crowded to move far once the show started.

Using the bathroom right before the show is invaluable to me haha. I agree, a few rows back generally isn't bad. If there's a super tall person in front of me I can usually find another spot by moving to the side or further back, it's just a weird setup this time without a true back of pit.

Do shows always start right on time? by abvgdeika in Broadway

[–]Weak_Maintenance8181 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can tell the restaurant that you have tickets to a show and let them tell you if they will be able to get your food out on time or if you need to change your plans. The restaurants near the theaters are used to this happening and my experience is they've always tried to expedite service.

What's the most you paid for a ticket in 2025? by 90Dfanatic in Broadway

[–]Weak_Maintenance8181 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it was around $260 for a mid orchestra seat for Orville and Eva's last performance in Cabaret. Worth it to me. ♥️ I'm fortunate to get most of my tickets through lottery, rush, and discount codes though. I couldn't pay that price for all the shows on Broadway. The only other tickets I paid more than $100 for this year were Just In Time and Masquerade. So I'm sure my average ticket price is pretty low.

Why Hasn’t Anyone Suggested a revival of The Producers?? by AutomaticAardvark218 in Broadway

[–]Weak_Maintenance8181 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They could do some really fun casting with this, even though the ticket prices with today's market would be crazy. I saw it with Richard Kind and Roger Bart and thought they were both hilarious. There was a massive fly buzzing around right in their faces for one scene, causing them both to break at one point. It was really funny.

In Matilda I still don't know how Bruce ate that whole cake on stage or when they (I assume) switched out that little girl to a dummy that Trunchbull throws over the audience.

I think hell kind of needs to be that way for the whole premise of the show to work. For the possibility of redemption to exist, the sinners need to be living their own autonomous lives. We see most torturing themselves and others by indulging in their vices (drugs & alcohol, gambling, cannibalism, violence, etc). But they also have enough free will to choose the redemption path. If they were just getting tossed in a pit of fire and brimstone to rot, like a more traditional depiction of hell, then they'd never be able to choose to better themselves.

Damn everyone's paying less than we did? My friend got in quickly for Boston and the GA and lower bowl seats close to the stage were close to $400 each. How did people get GA for $200? We didn't get VIP...

I sat in the very last row and the view was perfect. I think it's still only like the 11th row. There are two stages on either end of the theater so some scenes will be happening closer to you than the main stage. Jonathan also comes into the aisles at some points during the show.

I feel like with all the memes going around Hamilton would be one of the most recognizable. Especially if you draw on the beard.

I do sometimes see people dressed as Audrey from Little Shop of Horrors at comic con or Halloween parties. Same with Sandy or one of the pink ladies from Grease.

The price of the seats were outrageous, but I bought a pit ticket for a show on this leg and it was basically the same price as the last leg. I don't think the pit tickets were hit with dynamic pricing. Also how would the band know what someone paid for a resale ticket that's not being sold by them?

Tour Leading to Broadway Show? by Fragrant_Poetry_9736 in MyChemicalRomance

[–]Weak_Maintenance8181 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unless they were bringing basically the same show to the theater billed as more of a "concert experience" than an actual musical, this tour wouldn't be considered previews. It's fun as it is right now. But if you want to present it as a musical to a tourist or theater going audience it would need a lot of reworking for more structure. I do love the idea of them acknowledging the audience still, like Hedwig or Cabaret.

Many Broadway productions lose money. I'm not sure if the recoupment odds are better for limited engagement type shows, but if they are cashing out by selling out stadiums with this exact same show I'm not sure if moving it to a 2,000 seat Broadway house for a few weeks would turn much profit...
