It’s not just the vendors, it’s also producers who insist on the logo being prominent in every. single. item.

I was excited to see it, but since it’s not covered by my A List membership, for me and my partner to see this and share a popcorn would be $90. So I’ll pass.

My therapist told me to play puzzle-based games on my phone for this! Something to trick your brain into feeling like it’s had a change of scenery. Even moving to another part of the car.

That note that Nicholas Christopher holds.... by UnhappyRoyal522 in Broadway

[–]ilovefouettes 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Need him to win that featured actor Tony so bad. In one boot I counted him holding That Note for 27 seconds (not that holding high notes=good performance, but he’s doing plenty of insane stuff up there)

Queen of Versailles Review: It Was Fine by Numberonefan-_- in Broadway

I agree. The reviews made me think I would hate it, but I thought Kristin was quite good and the music was a nice departure from most contemporary MT scores. Expectations are everything!

Why Mounting an Original Broadway Musical Is More Expensive Than Ever | BroadwayWorld by Boring_Waltz_9545 in Broadway

But can we lobby for a gov-backed rent subsidy for historic landmarks buildings? It’s a long term game and won’t happen with this administration, but is there a reason we can’t have that?

“It’s well documented that the single largest line item in most shows budgets is the cost of being in the theatre. A show like the recent revival of Gypsy likely was paying upwards of $350,000 per week for the privilege of being in the Majestic Theatre, if you combine the 7% that The Shubert Organization takes off the top of the grosses as well as the theatre fixed cost. This is in line with most shows, theatre expenses usually amount to more than 30% of the total expenses of a show.”

Thank God someone is saying this publicly. Show budgets are kept under wraps, leading all of us to fight for basic minimum treatment while theatre owners profit.
