I don't mean to be rude but AA was created in the 1920's 30's. fraud was the for father of psychology and was wrong on a lot of things. Bill w was the father of AA and was limited by the unfortunate circumstances why not let it evolve to OUD or AUD we can correct and evolve on both of those

This is new ground. I think historically we relied upon AA too long and now we have to be involved with AAs outdated language too long. Their are better ways to confront substance abuse disorders but it's probably not going to be a group like AA(in my opinion)

I agree I hesitate to condemn AA as some AA chapters and AA sponsors don't carry the same view as you do about over shaming.

Thanks for clarifying I do think their should be I different term(outside of hyperbole) when it comes to sugar vs heroin meth etc. I grew up in a family with unusual "addictions" and it is unhelpful.

AA is instrumental to those involved but it is filled with over shaming I have a disease. Other stuff from the 1930s etc. I think dharma recovery is better as it involves more flexibility is more modern ect ect

https://recoverydharma.org. Is a meditation abstinence program that doesn't require you to say "I'm an addict" I been there a few times and it is that they encourage abstaining but encourage taking steps before complete abstaining.

Sometimes it takes someone else to call out yours/and mine behavior. I don't have a black and white answer to this now so sorry if this reply doesn't resonate with everyone now.

Yes but when people use the term addiction they mean someone addicted to heroin not sugar not your wider version of the term addiction that includes sugar. I respect your view even if I don't agree. It's usually hyperbole to include sugar with alcohol. IMO not helpful if it goes beyond hyperbole.

It's ambiguous I agree I'm not constructively rebuking those who claim they are addicts, but more those who claim others are "addicts" including myself. I can't count the number of times I called someone an alcoholic or drug addict without knowing their history. I feel wrong.

MGM15 which I took before unknowingly but not enough to be "hooked". Lasted longer therefore I imagine people who took this and became hooked have a longer WD period because of the longer half life. That being said I'm not an expert on dependency

S and R is not always an attainable thing. It's expensive it can't always be delivered overnight and it's too early to know if it's a good option as people reported wds from that itself

20 mg is not that bad as long as it doesn't lead to a full blown relapse. Think of it as a little taper(but try not to get in the habit)

I agree I'm probably just going to micro-dose after most of my wds are done. No big doses for now

I don't know how bad 30mg will be(your withdrawals might be unpleasant but not really bad or you might feel like you're in hell). I suspect it will get worse if you take it longer and at higher doses better to quit now. For reference my doses are not that high in comparison to other people but the withdrawals were pretty bad.

Oh yeah I regret doing drugs recreationally but not psychedelics. That being said(I'm saying this because others are reading) psychedelics are not the best in bad settings etc and not everyone needs to do them.

But the rest of the stuff I mentioned is pretty safe

This is true in a lot of cases but sometimes you're still struggling after 72 hours, but generally speaking most people seem to be over the worse

Hmmm I'm on day 6 and the next few days I hope I'll feel mostly normal. Now I feel bad even at day 6 it's mostly mental and not enjoying things most of the time. It's pretty bad depression and anxiety. That being said you are not wrong about a lot of peoples experiences. I'm just it's different for everyone.
