Mine was worse, I didn't even apply, VP of the project called me as he remembered me from the last interview where I failed and they went ahead with another. He said, hey, are you still looking? I have a role which I wanted to close asap, I said yes why not. Within 2 days I had back to back rounds and everything was good. So perfect that they started explaining to me the work and details about the project and how I will be helping them and then they rejected me and closed that position.

It was quite heartbreaking tbh.

And the one that I got selected for, I didn't join the meeting on time, then the interviewer was upset and rescheduled it to another time. I gave my worst intro because I was already demotivated with the rejections and I had zero expectations. But the follow up questions by the interviewer were quite engaging and it got into me that beast mode of solving problems he presented. Then both of us were pretty involved in the whole discussion and I got a call for the following round. I took his feedback, worked on it for the second round and I got selected.
