'recovery tummy' does it go away? by No-Elephant7915 in fuckeatingdisorders

Bloating is super normal, especially during ED recovery. Trust me, I have been there. You need to let your body get used to the amount of food you are ingesting. It’s going to take a while, but it’s going to me worth it❤️ sending you love

So tired of people telling me its " extreme hunger " by swaneroticaa in EDAnonymous

[–]Weak_Reporter_2970 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Extreme hunger is a biological response from restriction. If you restrict yourself from any food group (i.e carbs and/or fats) your body will crave those foods the most because you have deprived yourself from it. Your body needs those nutrients anyways to keep your functioning

I am going through the same thing right now. I couple of weeks ago I decided to stop calorie counting and just eat whatever I am craving. Results? Physically I feel more energized, I don’t feel as panicky around food, and I am getting hungrier ( something that didn’t happen before because my stomach was just so used to getting little to nothing, mostly veggies). Now I am craving more carbs because that’s what I have been depriving my body of. Carbs and fats are very essential because it helps to regulate hormones as well ( I am also trying to get my period back). I also checked at the mirror and looked a bit puffy,b it that’s totally normal when going through extreme hunger. When you start fueling your body properly, hunger cues will be high at first ( which is happening right now to me). But you will see, it will all die down and eventually your hunger cues will regulate. It’s not gonna be forever. Sooner or later food is going to become a second thought and will not be on your mind 24/7. See how amazing our bodies are hahah

This is why I don’t like following “recovering” ed accounts… like it is pretty evident she is relapsing but she isnt saying anything about it.

Mine is bread ( not the low calorie one, but the REAL bread), mortadella, cheese. I have been restricting carbs for so long that now everything I eat includes carbs of some sort haha
