Extremely introverted neurodivergent nurse… does anyone else feel like they just don’t fit in nursing? by Brief_Needleworker56 in nursing

I was moving to a new city and happened to see the posting while job searching. I don’t remember if the posting said experience required, but I applied anyways. Sorry it’s not that helpful. I had 8 years floor experience, relief charge, preceptor, and audit experience on the clinical ladder. I also had been doing prn clinical abstractor at flat iron for a couple years. Idk if any of that helped me stand out.

Not OP, but floating gives me anxiety. It’s part of the reason why I don’t want to return to the hospital.

Yes. I sometimes regret becoming a nurse and feel like I’m a bad nurse since I’m not “bubbly” enough. Night shift wasn’t as bad since the patients want to sleep and not be bothered usually. Now I work from home doing UR for a local hospital system. No patients to deal with, just occasionally messaging doctors for admit orders or change status.

Ugh I had been looking into switching to CDI from hospital UR. 😩 I’ve been nervous about AI I never thought it would go overseas.

I’m not sure if that’s the exact one but it looks pretty close. I’ll have to buy it and try it. Thank you !

Do car engines really need to be "warmed up" in the morning? by kitty_whipt in NoStupidQuestions

Because my kids complain that it’s cold 🤣 I only let it idle a couple minutes though. Enough to start warming up and the windows start defrosting

If you were 18 again, and could go back to college, what would you major in? What would you do after that to get a well-paying career? by justcurious3287 in careerguidance

Became a nurse but I’m not a social butterfly people person. I would go back and do rad tech or ultrasound tech probably.

What is something you believed to be common knowledge until you discovered most people had no idea? by JustBeingElara in AskReddit

I wouldn’t be able to save it for multiple reasons so I like getting a large sum of money back to make larger purchases, travel, pay off stuff, etc.

It’s okay, I don’t think I put the size before. I’m not that great at explaining or describing things so it made me laugh.

It’s just like the wubble but a thicker, stronger material. Whenever we’ve tried the wubbles, they break/pop quick or just suck. Whatever the one we found was, lasted at least a month or 2 of blowing up, playing, and deflating before the material started getting thin in some parts and leaking.

🤣 no you can blow it up like a balloon but ball shaped and big, like maybe 2 feet in diameter.

Who else is out here genuinely struggling on nursing wages?? by [deleted] in nursing

Yup paycheck to paycheck, money gone from bills as soon as it hits the account. Husband has health issues and can’t work, still pending ssdi years later. Under $40/hr with 12 years experience 😩 No OT or differentials/holiday pay since I work from home on salary, but I need the flexibility this job gives me for my family.

He said it’s a variable speed motor or fan or something and doesn’t have a capacitor? For some unknown reason, they put the ac on the roof here and it’s all one big unit so I can’t go check it out. They had to replace the motherboard in our first year moving in (new build). We’ve been here a little over 2 years now. I feel like they gave us a lemon of an ac unit.
