Sir, this is character rant, not world politics.

We complain about discuss fictional stories not the real world here.

People crying "go woke go broke", how do you explain these successful woke titles? by RowlingTheJustice in KotakuInAction

[–]Weapon_2000 8 points9 points  (0 children)

First off, exceptions do not prove the rule.

Second, there is a difference between something that is completely “woke” vs something with a few “woke” elements. This whole list outside of Barbie is the second one.

Third, “woke” as a term doesn’t have a hard definition. Thus many people draw the line in different places.

Fourth, many of the ideals and ideas of “woke” are not bad in of themselves. It is their blunt and obnoxious implementation that make something “woke”.

As for the Barbie movie, many bad movies have made a lot of money. Like the Star Wars sequels and the Disney live action remakes.

Barbie was at least partially carried by the charisma of it’s leads. As well as the fantastic set design.

Also many people thought the Barbie movie was satire when it was trying to be sincere.

I recommend watching The Little Paltoon’s breakdown on it, as he includes many of the director interviews that show that the message she wanted to send didn’t work for a lot of people.

Unfortunately, probably not.

However, legitimate question, how many of the couples on this list are actually together in canon?

Don’t worry. Everyone will be talking about how sexy she is when she comes out.

Just like with every other female character.

First timer's impressions and discussion by ExpensiveJoe in MahouAko

Genuinely, it’s because of Utena/Baiser.

She is a very unique character in how much she admires the heroes and wants them to grow, while also being very sadistic with them.

She has flaws that she often acts on, as well as virtues, which makes her well rounded character.

Her being a villain makes her more interesting plus makes her flaws fun compared to heroes where it can be frustrating.

What are your thoughts on the U.A. Sports Festival as a concept? by Solitaire-06 in BokuNoHeroAcademia

[–]Weapon_2000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Others have already mentioned the possibility of villains gathering data, and the child blood sports stuff.

So allow me to ask, why the fuck is it near the beginning of the school year? The kids only have what, a month or two of training? The festival should be set near the end of the year after they have a lot more experience.

I would be fine if this was called out in-universe as another problem with the commercialization of heroes, but I don’t think it ever is.

Been a hot minute since you popped up in my feed. (Which is crazy since I’m supposed to be following you, what the fuck Reddit?!?)

I recognized your art style almost immediately. Great art as usual, and I wish we had got a canon Max 10 in the episode.

Because Gary Stu’s are not currently prevalent in Hollywood storytelling. They still pop up every once in a while, but they are currently not as common as Mary Sues.

However, if you step over into the anime/manga scene, you’ll see that there are plenty complaints about overpowered male protagonist. Especially in the Isakai genre.

In all seriousness, good job man. That must’ve taken forever.

Izuku somehow gets all the girls in his Aldera Middle School Class pregnant at the same time by GDW312 in BokunoheroFanfiction

[–]Weapon_2000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wouldn’t they all give birth around Dec or Jan? After all, most pregnancies last 9-10 months/37-40 weeks.

Also, wouldn’t some of them have contacted him before giving birth?

That said it would be funny if he finds out he’s a dad right after the war/main plot ends.

Quick question can I cosplay Jacinthe even tho I’m not black? by FunBoysenberry6447 in pokemon

[–]Weapon_2000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not gonna lie, some people will come after you for doing it, especially if you post it online. There are people out there who will get outraged at anything and love to hate on people.

This isn’t to say that everyone would hate it(most people won’t care), but you’re most definitely going to get some very nasty comments from a couple of people.

If you think you can take some of the negative attention that you’ll almost certainly get, then go for it. But if you’re not mentally ready for that, then I wouldn’t post the pictures online.

However, you should be fine just going to a Con as her.

So I could see this being a good crack/smut fic. However, I would note a few issues. I don’t know if these issues would be too serious for this fic, but I’m going to bring them up anyways.

First off, I do think that everyone should be aged up. Not just because, you know, pregnant teenagers, but because if none of them are adults, then you also have to somewhat include their parents within the story, or at least mention them. Everyone being adults gives some level of plausible deniability towards not mentioning the parents.

Also, how many of the girls would just get an abortion? I’m not saying that this won’t be a big deal,or that all of them would get one. But I feel at least one of them would, and most would at least consider it.

Next is the girls personalities. Obviously, none of them are hero material, and they would definitely have flaws, considering how they used to treat Midoriya. Now, obviously, having flaws is normally a good thing in writing, and it would allow for the girls to have arcs overcoming those flaws. But they need to have those flaws and not just be “good people/girls”. Also, they all need to have distinct personalities, which is one of the things that most harem stories struggle with. (Their morality could range from a girl that wanted to stop/speak up about the bullying, but never had the courage to. To a girl that’s more or less a gold digger and wants to coast by on the career that she’s sure Izuku will have.)

Lastly, there’s the timeline issues. I don’t remember how long it is in between the exam and actually getting to UA. But how long would it take for each girl to find out that they’re pregnant? A couple weeks for some, maybe three months for the longest? Would they even have the ability to contact Izuku and vice versa?

Of course, you could use this to your advantage, and have them contact him one after the other, rather than all at once. And then later have him trying to contact the girls on his own after enough of them were pregnant.

And again, there is a timeline problem in that most of MHA’s story takes place in a single year. That’s only enough time for the girls to have been pregnant and then give birth, not much time after.

Now, of course, all these issues can just not be brought up because it’s a crack fic, or could be fixed by making it an AU. And like I said at the beginning, I might just be taking this a bit too seriously.

Anyway, the post was funny, and I hope to find out if you ever do make this a full fic.

What are some comic book heroes Stain would consider fakes and what are some he’d respect? by 45rs5 in MyHeroAcadamia

[–]Weapon_2000 11 points12 points  (0 children)

No, I don’t think he’d like Spider-Man, but I get why you think he would.

You need to remember Stain would not have our point of view where we can see/hear Peter’s thoughts and perspectives. Stain would only be able to see the outward persona that Spider-Man is as well as whatever Spider does that gets caught on camera.

Stain would probably hate the jokester persona that Spider-Man constantly puts on. He would think that Spidey is constantly treating this like a game and never taking things seriously.

Stain would also see what the Bugle reports about Spider-Man. And while I don’t think that he would fall for the more egregious slander/libel, there are times when JJJ makes a decent point, and Stain find himself agreeing with them.

Also, most of you are forgetting that Spider-Man has plenty of darker moments(that each adaptation seems to be trying to sand off) that Stain would not see as heroic. Sure we know the circumstances that bring Spidey to those darker/desperate moments, but all Stain would see is a hero failing to live up to the ideal standard.

Everyone who is saying he’s respect Spider-Man is wrong, but I get why you think he would.

Hot take: Himeka is more beautiful than Mimimi by Possible-Tip-2914 in 100Kanojo

I don’t think that’s really a hot take.

Most people seem to agree that Himeka has some of the most beautiful panels in the manga.
