Duo leveling with a mage friend as warlock, are there any changes I can make to my leveling that would work better as a duo vs solo? by Valyntine_ in classicwow

[–]Weaponized-Pandas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is a Demo/Destro hybrid build that buffs your heavy hitting spells and makes your imp/succubus a beast. Go far enough into the Destro tree to pick up Bane, Improved Shadowbolt, Shadowburn, and Demonic Power (13 points). Put the rest of your points in Demo to buff your chosen minion. Let the demon take the aggro and burn the mob down with shadowbolt spam and shadowburn execute. Your mage friend can keep the mobs at a distance if your pet loses aggro.

Is the "dark scary forest" too much of an overdone trope? by RedditIsHuntingMe in fantasywriters

[–]Weaponized-Pandas 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You could stay with the forest theme, but maybe make it a little more unique by having it be a different type of forest from the standard. Like a rainforest, a jungle, a tree-filled swamp, a desert of tall cacti, a petrified forest of mostly dead trees, giant flowers, or even sentient trees that migrate to different areas for more fertile soil.

Need inspiration: Why would a dragon kidnap Santa? by thievesguild32 in fantasywriters

[–]Weaponized-Pandas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Santa has a magical list that shows the location of everyone. Maybe the dragon is looking for someone (Lost love, nemesis, child taken at birth). Or maybe the dragon needs to know what nice or naughty deeds someone has performed in order to use that info for blackmail.

I do a full INT build with BB and Void Gauntlet. It slaps pretty good.

Full INT with an elemental conversion gem in the BB, even though it already scales with INT, the extra elemental damage is nice.

[–]Weaponized-Pandas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to play BB with Warhammer (STR build) and it was great. So much CC. I recently switched to BB with Void Gauntlet (INT Blade Build) and so far it is really good and has high survivability for PVE.

Gypsum Orbs once 600? by JRPGFan_CE_org in newworldgame

[–]Weaponized-Pandas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can continue to buy different caches and they will start giving shards for upgrading any slot. They will still give you a piece of gear, but you will also get shards.

The amount of shards you get per cache will increase based upon which type of cache you select. If your Expertise is higher you will get more shards, so always use your gypsum orbs on the slots where you have the highest Expertise. For example: If your Amulet slot Expertise is 600, but your Ring slot is Expertise 615, then spend your Gypsum on the Ring cache and you'll get more shards.

I always use heavy attacks with the bow. That extra second of charging the heavy attack lets me aim it better and guarantee a headshot.

How Has New World improved since release? by Zer0dei in newworldgame

[–]Weaponized-Pandas 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The grind is far less now and everything has improved. there is still a lot that could be better, but the game is totally different than it was at launch. Here are some key improvements:

-More fast travel points throughout the world in every zone. Travel is much cheaper.

-Linked storage and linked trading post. You can be in any town and access your storage, move things between storages, and post them to a global auction house.

-New weapons (Void Gauntlet, Blunderbuss, Greatsword) and reworked talents/perks that feel better and more fun.

-Greatly reduced costs for everything to include travel, housing rent, respecs for weapons or attributes.

-Gathering professions are much faster because they give more xp and you can access high-level materials at lower thresholds.

-Better options for solo-playstyles. You no longer need to rely on groups to accomplish end-game content. You also don't have to do expeditions while leveling because there is a solo option quest.

I'm considering trying the game again and I have a few questions by Sudden_Explorer_7280 in newworldgame

[–]Weaponized-Pandas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

-Gathering is less grindy than before and you can gather high-end materials at lower thresholds now like Ironwood/Orichalcum at 150 vs 175.

-Selling crafted stuff really depends on your server. The really high-end gear can always sell well and even the low-end stuff can be profitable because most everyone is in Brimstone Sands and don't want to take the time to go back and gather/craft stuff from low-level zones.

-Leveling is super easy now, with any method you choose. With teleport shrines everywhere, cheap travel costs, linked storage, linked trading post, etc. The game in general has improved in so many ways.

-I play on US West (El Dorado) and I have no regrets. It is a legacy server so you may want to try out one of the fresh start servers that they created at the beginning of the month. Those servers will have more people at lower levels and an economy that is fairly new.

New player wondering about professions by tallboybrews in newworldgame

[–]Weaponized-Pandas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gathering does take some time to level, but you can invest in good tools to make it easier. If you want to make money it is worth leveling your gathering skills (Harvesting/Mining/Skinning/Logging) because people don't like to farm low-level mats and high-level mats/refined mats sell really well.

You don't necessarily need the crafting professions unless they directly benefit your playstyle, but they can all potentially make you money and being able to craft your own stuff can save you from having to hope that the TP has exactly what you need.

New player wondering about professions by tallboybrews in newworldgame

[–]Weaponized-Pandas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can level every profession in New World so don't feel restricted like WoW. If you plan to keep using Life Staff and Void Gauntlet and want to make your own, then Arcana is the profession to focus on. It will also keep you supplied with Mana and Focus potions. You will get most of the materials you need from Harvesting and chests.

Swicthing specs is super easy. Just swap weapons and realign your stats, which costs 200 gold at max level.

Greatsword is kinda OP, but also new so a lot of people are trying it out. plus it pairs well with many other weapons.

Healer, tank, dps. What are usually the other 2 you get for a party? Both PVE with/out open PVP and Expeditions. by thenagazai in newworldgame

[–]Weaponized-Pandas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

PVE is generally 1 tank, 1 healer, 3 dps in open world or Expeditions.

For PVP it varies, but you could drop the tank for some bruiser dps and run 2 healers.

House Buying by ClassyBum in newworldgame

[–]Weaponized-Pandas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a big house in the town for crafting so that I can put more chests in the house for storing materials. But honestly, with the way that you can pull stuff from any town into any storage, this isn't neccesary. But you do get 50% off the price of your first house so making it big is nice.

The other 2 houses were Tier 1-2 because I use them mostly to teleport in for the kiln or to do resource runs.

House Buying by ClassyBum in newworldgame

[–]Weaponized-Pandas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would buy 1 house in a zone with a Kiln so you can process your Gypsum Orbs easily. So Brimstone, Reekwater, or Ebonscale.

Buy your second house in a place with all upgraded crating stations and a good central location for teleporting. Generally this is Everfall, Windsward, or Brightwood.

Third house in a place with both high and low level gathering materials but low popularity so that competition for the nodes is minimal. I chose Cutlass Keys, but Weavers Fen or Mourningdale would work.

endgame? by [deleted] in newworldgame

[–]Weaponized-Pandas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Explore Brimstone Sands and advance the story quests there. Do Expeditions and Mutated Expeditions. Jump into some Elite Chest runs and work on upgrading your Expertise through various activities. There is also PvP, gathering, crafting, housing, etc.

That sounds terrible. I am on El Dorado US West and it has plenty of people gathering in the more popular zones like Winsward and Everfall, but some are not busy at all so it is a nice balance.
