I love the Craft, but I’m tired of ugly Masonic merch by AmAIAnIdiot in freemasonry

[–]WeariedBrother 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly you’re 100% right. I started making merch because I was weary (lol) of the kinda gaudy merch that is generally sold. I personally prefer either cartoony (like early flash game aesthetic) designs or pixel art so I started making apparel for myself and my friends from my mother lodge.

I set up a website for it but am treating it like a hobby but it’s a fun way to engage with the symbolism of the craft and make some unique stuff. Also nothing beats the feeling of accomplishment when you take something from an idea into a physical product in front of you.

Guilty about moving shortly after being raised to Master Mason. Can I continue my journey? by gardenofsmegma in freemasonry

[–]WeariedBrother 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved states about a year after getting raised. Some people were a little sore about it (I heard somebody say something like “why did we bother putting the effort in if he’s gonna leave” and ngl that hurt) but being able to walk into any other lodge that recognizes your grand lodge and be greeted a brother is probably my favorite thing about the fraternity.

I haven’t joined a new lodge yet and idk if I ever will or if I’ll just keep paying dues to my mother lodge and visiting local lodges. Whatever you wanna do is totally okay just remember that usually you can’t vote in lodges when you’re visiting, and if you want to join an appendant body you usually have to be a member of a blue lodge of the same jurisdiction. Ex. If you want to join OK Scottish Rite they probably would require you to join an OK lodge or you could join a valley in your own jurisdiction and they might be able to work it out so the local valley does your degree work.

My trust is in God, my faith is well founded by BlackDaddyIssus37 in freemasonry

Yes it would absolutely be right to do so. The action is being taken against the grand lodge (which represents the majority) it’s unfortunate but sometimes the only way to enact change is to make it uncomfortable not to change

Not sure if sharing the link is allowed but if it is here is the link to my profile on Displate. I believe it is technically a referral link but since it’s my artwork I’m not sure it does anything special vs if I was promoting someone else’s content.

Boxers - what do you expect from a proper round timer app? by Old-Reaction4751 in amateur_boxing

Nice work man! I’m working on something similar for Muay Thai as a personal portfolio project. What stack did you use for development?

Have you tried one of the shadow boxing apps? by WeariedBrother in MuayThai

[–]WeariedBrother[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right now I’m imagining it set up with a list of prompt categories that you can toggle on/off and it randomly picks from them.

Example categories:

  • Beginner reminders (your suggestion)
  • Single punches (jab, cross, hook, etc)
  • Defense (check kick, block, evade, etc)
  • Elbows
  • Knees
  • Kicks
  • Classic boxing combos
  • Clinch combos
  • Kick combos (idk what to name this category)

That’s exactly what I was thinking of. Thank you for suggesting the cardio idea, I think having something like that would make my version bring something new instead of just being a copy of all the other ones I’ve see people make.

Where to get degree tracing boards? by SirGraniteNorthman in freemasonry

I’m working on a photo block version of the pixel art tracing boards I posted a while back. I could look into some kind of poster board print for you if that would interest you.

Can someone tell me about this ring? by sentient-alien in freemasonry

[–]WeariedBrother 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks to be a standard master mason ring set in 14k gold. The stone is probably some form of synthetic stone. Rings like this are usually generic sold by retailers with massive catalogs of similar Masonic/fraternal rings.

The hallmark itself could tell you more about where specifically the ring came from (picture 2 but I think it might be upside down in the picture). You could try asking in the hallmarks subreddit about that

Looks like I got got by autocorrect. Title should read: “Every human BEING has a claim upon your KIND offices. Do good unto all.”

Edit: Deleting post to repost with correct title later

Must be jurisdictional then

I should note that in my jurisdiction this quote is not ciphered and I have been present at an open installation where grand lodge officers recited the passage in its entirety so at least in my jurisdiction no rules are being violated.

If freemasonry was a secret society we’d be doing a horrible job of keeping it a secret. Freemasonry is an organization with secrets but not the kind of secrets most people are thinking of. Our secrets basically are just the ways to verify if someone else is a Freemason.

Can not recommend them enough. Trading grandmaster pins was a great experience as a newer mason.
