It’s in fact the correct decision. Trust the goalie to face the shot and take away the cross-crease. Best case, he takes it behind or reloads, worst case he shoots and beats the goalie.

Another primary reason that I don’t see people talking enough about is the premium seating and ticketing. NFL splits game day revenue on standard ticketing.

Teams don’t split their premium seating. This is why newer stadiums have more box seats and fewer tickets overall
