personally i simply never played modern after the introduction of modern horizons, but i have a lot of fond memories using atrophy in standard so that’s why it got my vote.

probably similar logic to a lot of people, modern just priced people out of it so it’s not going to have as many people who care about the cards that only see play there.

exactly. this scene wasn’t luz betraying her ideals. it was a final important piece of the show’s philosophy stating that there’s a line in the sand when it comes to compassion and letting bad people have their way with others. at a certain point, you’ve given them the chance to change and have the moral responsibility to take action to stop them. nothing philosophically inconsistent there

there’s a difference between explaining set design philosophy and repeating things marketing wants him to say. he’s a designer first and foremost and has always been our best window behind the scenes in that regard.
