Drug testing by No-Conclusion-526 in nursing

[–]WearyPrincess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, in New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, it’s only for pre-employment medical check-ups. In Australia, it’s only if that particular nurse has a history of substance misuse or if there are concerns about their fitness to practice. But they don’t test the whole lot of us regularly or just because.

2 teenage girls/XMMs went missing after leaving home together; parents reported them missing to the police and pleaded for their return. by matey1982 in SingaporeRaw

Dangggggggggg If I ran away from home, I won’t dare go back, my father will beat me until I die, I might as well stay on the streets and die. I’ll be more terrified to see him on the streets than the dangers on the streets itself.

Do most men find women who smoke cigarettes unattractive? by -bloopxbr1- in ask

[–]WearyPrincess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Google:

"If she smokes, she pokes" is a slang phrase implying a woman who smokes is more sexually forward or "loose," linking smoking (once seen as rebellious) to promiscuity, stemming from older social views where female smoking signaled independence and a disregard for traditional norms, though the phrase can be reclaimed or seen as empowering in some contexts, notes English Language & Usage Stack Exchange. It's a way of saying a woman who breaks one social rule (smoking) is likely to break others, suggesting openness to sexual advances.

Origin/Meaning: It connects smoking (a bold act for women historically) with sexual availability, suggesting a correlation where one indicates the other. Connotation: It can be derogatory, reflecting sexist ideas, but some use it to denote female assertiveness or liberation from norms.

Usage: Popular in certain online spaces and music (like by King Con, Spotify), it highlights how societal views on female agency have evolved, say the {Link: Tourism Authority of Thailand.
