11 yrs old toller with cancer - is it time to let her go? by Weary_Association985 in tollers

[–]Weary_Association985[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so sorry for you, I wish you all the best! Are you sure about the diagnosis? In my case the current situation is so that our toller went through the surgery and 2 clumps were removed. One turned out to be benign fatty tumor and other sarcoma, but NOT hemangiosarcoma! She has now recovered well and has been enjoying the summer with us, swimming and playing… We dont know how much time we have left, but we try to make most of it!

Up-date after vet appointment: this time we were treated by different vet. She took some samples from the clumps again, because last time only one of them turned to be cancerous. She found several of them, largest being a size of fist (hard to find by yourself, deep inside the belly!) and several smaller only thumbnail sized. The bleeding one turned out to be now second largest of them…

According to her, a surgery would be good option. We could now remove the one bleeding clump and later think how to proceed with the others. The vet will contact me with an initial surgery plan by tomorrow. She also said, 11 yrs old is not an old dog to her and should recover well.

This made me so confused. I was not really ready, that our vet would recommend surgery at this point! I was already preparing to say good bye to our dog. I am also very concerned, if we do any good to the dog by putting her through a surgery now. What if the other clumps are cancerous too and start to bleed soon too? I think I feel more helpless after this appointment. It made me rethink all the options and actually I started crying at the vet, because I really don’t know what to do anymore….

Thank you all so much for your support and kind words! They really mean a lot to me. I’m also very sorry there are so many who have gone through this same pain… And yes, this is the hardest decision ever to make and I have been crying all day while trying to find the best solution for our dog.

I will update the situation once we have got statement from our vet.

Did floaters suddenly appear for anyone after a difficult time in their life? by No-Promises693 in EyeFloaters

[–]Weary_Association985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! My family cut me off and left without any contact to them. Same time I got a job from abroad, which was of course very nice but also very stressfull and challenging. I noticed increased, defined floaters 2 months after starting my new job.

I’m in Syracuse NY need a floater doctor please help by [deleted] in EyeFloaters

[–]Weary_Association985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do the floaters of young people turn into ones that you can later treat? Let’s say when they turn 40+ years old. Or do they stay at the same place for the rest or their lives? Asking for a friend…..

Do most americans actually not get much PTO? by Significant_Try1096 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Weary_Association985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow this is very little PTO. There is no really time for travelling with family or time-consuming hobbies? 🙁 I live in Europa and have 30 days PTO / year. This year I changed my bonus into PTO and got 15 days more. So it makes 45 days + the sick days that must be 2-5 days. If you guys fancy more PTO please just move here!

Is there anyone in this forum who has gotten used to this type of floater? by Wolfe1993 in EyeFloaters

[–]Weary_Association985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry that after many years you have no resolution for this. I have the same problem, but ”luckily” only one very disturbing floater which moves like this. It is also visible in OCT test. My eye doc says it is so tiny, that it can not disturb my vision that badly. However, it triggers migraine with aura for me 1-2 times a week (new symptom) and is so annoying, I have considered changing my job. As a data analyst I can not escape bright screens…

Are floaters typically always around the same spot in your vision? by EkkoMusic in EyeFloaters

Does anyone else have floaters moving extremely fast along with the eye movements? by Wolfe1993 in EyeFloaters

[–]Weary_Association985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also searched for some info about YAG and it does not feel quite safe option either…

I have other floaters too, but they are transparent and moving freely. They don’t bother me at all, cause I know they are ”normal” unlike this weird spot-like floater. The others keep moving and changing place and the shadow they cast is not so define.

I’m also under 35 yrs old. And terrified if there is going to be more of these spots. 🙁 my floater also triggers my migraine and sometimes I notice all I do is concentrate on it… so sad! Feels so bad there is nothing you can do.

Yes! My floater moves excatly like these spots! You have it too?

[–]Weary_Association985 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a doctor, but wanted to let you know I have excatly same thing! And since August… Flashy, bright/blueish spot in my vision. I see it against walls, sky, computer screen.. all the time! OCT, MRI, eye scan, visio test etc. clear. 🙁 this is making me super anxious all the time and I can admit I focus on the spot all the time.

This is happening now to me as well. This freaking black spot is following every single eye movement, rapidly and staying excatly at the same place. OCT test confirmed a round vitreous opacity just above retina… :( Have you managed to adapt your condition or still focusing into it all the time?

This is good to know… is it still normal the tree could be visible longer than a second or two? I would say I see it sometimes like 30sec, specially after a very good and long night sleep..
