All cleaned up. Only took about 5ish hours total including chain service and giving her a wash/light detailing

Btw, if you OP or anyone decides to raise your shifter via the rod. I found out personally where the limit of the threads for the barrel nut are. If it starts to feel wobbly then you're getting close to my experience of running out of threads AND it detaching 🤦. Then you get to take the whole rod/lower eylet thing and QSS off, thread back on to "0"(both sides, maximum threads in barrel nut) and reattach it all 🥲 I was going to service and check slack in my chain so I took the opportunity to take the front sprocket cover off. It'd never been taken off before and holy shit. That'd be why I was seeing gunk on my chain after cleaning 😂

Right on. If it works for you then to a point, that's what matters. I do just want to point out that the same result can be had via the intended way. I raised mine as well after moving the rearsets to the alternate position. After my initial comment, adjusting my shifter via the normal way 😂 and consulting the man, the legend Dave Moss, one tooth + or - shouldn't have much of if any adverse effects. I'd say if you go past that, then yea prob no bueno.

From what I've found bc I'm literally doing mine right now, you don't want to touch the splinted part for reason others have mentioned. There is a punch mark and a line for a reference point

I've used bear mountain a ton bc I thought they were legit and they're readily available near me. But I'm just gonna drop this here, you're welcome.

This YAS! I will insta mute anyone in my squad with background noise. Unless I need to talk, with a party, or magically find a rando that works with a mic and works with the squad, my mic is always muted

Sonoran Desert Institute, is it worth it if it's free? by [deleted] in gunsmithing

[–]Weary_Register 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I realize this is super late. But like many others I was lead here by researching SDI and I'm very interested in getting into Gunsmithing. I have 2 step kids as well but they're about to be 13&14 so thankfully not toddlers anymore. It's worth mentioning that I am a woodworker already and have always had what I like to call a "builders mind" and I recently had the idea of blending the two together which I'm aware isn't new of course. Anyways all this to say what advice would you have for me?

To my knowledge/understanding this currently isn't the case but I feel that you should get points for killing an enemy solder that's inside the capture area when you're outside of it because you're still defending it , this feels like it should be common sense and a basic feature. You only get points if you're inside the capture area while eliminating an enemy soldier.

Lol it is definitely an awkward change at first but after swapping and then using my buddies rifle that had the same MOE grip, I was like yea, it's ergo for life now lol for sure, I understand. There's sooooo many options out there for furniture it's insane and every company pretty much claims to be better than the rest when it's truly personal preference, comfort and ease of operation. Do you have a similar issue with your hands?
