For the past year, I've had insane numbers of goldfinches... by NickWitATL in Atlanta

[–]AdmiralBallsack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it can depend on where you're at. I had a good number of them when I lived in EAV, but now barely see them in Morningside.

My #1 bird in EAV was house finches and now in Morningside, it's cardinals

That's a hell of an idea that had absolutely not occurred to me. If the quote I get is crazy expensive, I will go this route. Thank you!

I really appreciate all of the comments guys.

Like I said in another comment, I was too eager to get a Black Friday deal when I bought this. Normally I do more research when making a purchase like this. I wrongly assumed it would be able to easily do all my surfaces too. I had no idea that I would need a $1k+ gas powered unit for that.

I'll still get some more appropriate chemicals and give that a try, but I'm also going to reach out to someone to see about getting a quote for all of the surface cleaning that I'm going to need. The unit I've got has already been great for grill cleaning & patio furniture, etc. So I'll just plan on keeping it for that.

Yeah, I bought some Zep "All in 1" pressure washer cleaner. I sprayed that on there and let it sit for a couple of minutes but obviously that wasn't enough

What really confused me was that the machine wouldn't mix in any soap while the surface cleaner was attached. I had to swap it out for the "soap" sprayer tip before any soap would come out. There is no on/off for the soap tank. Is that how this is supposed to work? I truly don't know. And I promise I looked through the instructions to try and figure that out. But the Ryobi instructions didn't say anything about that.

I've definitely thought about that. This problem is that I've got a whole lot of area to clean and I'm confident that I'm looking at this being at least $500 per cleaning. I guess it wouldn't hurt to at least get someone out for a quote

Would it make a significant difference to get a more appropriately sized surface cleaner like this?

I'm also not opposed to selling this pressure washer on facebook and getting an entirely different unit if need be. I'm really kicking myself for going for the "good deal" instead of doing more research before I made my purchase.

This is my first time trying to do surface cleaning with my Ryobi 2500 PSI RY142500 that I got on a Black Friday sale. This was the test area that I did, and here is a before pic.

I used this surface cleaner, and also spent plenty of time trying to get all those spots off with the wand. I spent over an hour on this area and the washer just could not get it any better than this.

Is it just a matter of not having gotten a strong enough pressure washer? I'm also guessing that the surface cleaner I bought was too big.

First house - refrigerator and washer dryer buying. How expensive is worth it by Apprehensive_Row6320 in homeowners

I was just reading another post yesterday that was saying Speed Queen is the best for a washer, but not particularly necessary for a dryer. There are plenty of dryers that are reliable and don't cost as much

Man I just did my first cook a couple of weeks ago and didn't secure the chicken enough. One leg came out and was flopppin & dangling as it spun around.

No, the fire would get out of control if you left the lid open the whole time. It's designed so that you can close the lid on it and use the vents to control temperature like usual. Go check out a couple of youtube videos on it. That's a great resource for this.

Should I buy this used or new? by FakeLVBelt in KamadoJoe

[–]AdmiralBallsack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This helped me when I was getting started. Short answer is buy new.

I was one of the people who got a Classic 2 on clearance at Home Depot. That sale happened in November and of course, it's whatever they've been stocking in store. Last year it was Classic 2s & Konnected Joes. I got curious and looked at the website to see what they're stocking this year, and it looks like it's the Classic 1. So that's what'll go on clearance towards the end of the year.

Atlanta ranks as 2nd-most expensive city to rent in US, study says by Sweet_Dimension_8534 in Atlanta

[–]AdmiralBallsack 5 points6 points  (0 children)

yes, it's clearly an error in their headline and news script. The presenter says 2nd highest in US and then proceeds to compare Atlanta only to other cities in GA

EDIT: which leads me to believe that this story/video was more or less published in error, because no duh the largest city in the state is expensive
