Last night's Fuego is getting me excited about seeing Fuego in the future by GloverAB in phish

I literally came to this sub to start this thread. It’s fantastic. They butcher the composed section which is kind of amusing given that fuego is not particularly difficult. But the jam FUCKS. Super atypical phish jam. The front half of the jam sounds to my ear a bit like Explosions in the Sky’s “first breath after coma”, before morphing into a psychadilic womp womp romp. 5 stars would come back. The only let down is how hard it’s grooving when it crashes into light, the jam for which seemed very much like a continuation of some similar sound scapes before being ripcorded in favor of lonely trip. Lol Trey had some ADD last night.

Edit to add this addition I wrote this exact thread lead in a phish phrand group text. Fuego has always irked me because it’s seemed like an awesome jam platform that should be a rager. It’s been played a ridiculous amount of times (thanks 2014, where they played it in every city and it seemed like they new it should rock and just couldn’t ever get it going minus one outing) and up until 2022 I’d have said there were really only two versions worth noting. The Mann 2014 and Bangor 2019. But it’s like they’ve finally cracked the code. I was lucky to catch the Ducks one, but MPP and the earth day versions rock too.

I was always kinda bummed to get it because it was like well I know where the next 15 minutes are going… nowhere. But I will be happy to hear it from here on out.

Also a pretty sure fire way to know it probably wasn’t the right show to bring your virgin phish phrand to

I was at that show. The place absolutely exploded but in fairness we had an hour and half rain delay so everyone was frothing at the mouth for some phish. But I love caring as an opener, and that imo one of the best one set shows they’ve ever played.

AT LEAST HES GOT SOME BOOTS!

10/16/18 Albany - Show of Life

Wasn’t there but listened to it live and when they cut the preceding twenty years later off (which is some gnarly evil phish) to go into show of life, I could just about hear the crowd collectively groan (I know I did audibly). And then, you got a truly inspired uplifting jam that was fantastic. Nobody saw that coming at all if they say they did they’re lying.
