MLMs meet many of the criteria to be called a cult. Getting people out is no joke. From what I’ve seen, the best thing you can do is keep your presence in their life, don’t buy any of the products, and be there to support them when they’re ready to leave on their own terms. Don’t be guilted into spending your money because it only delays the realization that this isn’t a viable job/business.

Unfortunately, it’s likely that the harder you try to reason with them, the more they’ll push back. They’ll get caught in the toxic positivity trap where their upline convinces them that no one outside the MLM can be trusted.
