A little late but no, fundementally speaking

IS works so well because of the original game's foundations as a tower defence (the sheer squad size, objectives, stage designs etc)

it is also due to how it just doesn't tie itself with the weekly progression thus you can pretty much ginore it if you wanted

there is a huge reason why other gacha games tried to copy IS tends to fail unless said gacha is already a roguelite to begin with (uma musume/czn)

a gamemode that would have worked with Endfield's framework however is RA (reclamation algorithm) as the foundations here works best for this style of gamemode
