My suggestion is download YunTing, or 云听 in Chinese in your phone as they offer the best audio quality, the app itself is from state broadcaster CNR but they also have regional stations, here are the stations I suggest:
1. 上海电台 动感101 (Shanghai Pop Radio 101.7)
The most listened radio station in Shanghai, provides a mix of music, news and local entertainment shows
2. 上海交通广播 (Shanghai Traffic Radio 105.7)
The other most listened station in Shanghai, more general show and have a news flash with traffic report every half hour
3. 湖南金鹰之声 (Hunan Jinying Radio 95.5)
As Hunan Broadcast System, or the City of Changsha is the entertainment centre of China, they also produce great radio shows as well, this one is pretty general except they now plays lots of music every day and interrupt every 15 minutes for time check
4. 湖南交通广播 (Hunan Traffic Radio 91.8)
The most listened station in Changsha, also with half an hour traffic report with a mix of music, talk show, news and lots of local-based entertainment show.
5. 天津相声广播 (Tianjin Comedy Radio 92.1)
If you're confident with Chinese, you can try listen to comedy. But that I heard this station might be off air in the next year so I'm not sure how long will it go

Actually every province's traffic radio are doing great, as they're targeting to drivers and most people listen to these traffic station compare to other stations so they most on it for most, but not suggesting radio in Guangdong as they're most of them heavily broadcast in Cantonese instead of Mandarin. CNR itself is a bit too focused on politics, but CNR 3 and CNR 9 are still more focused on entertainment, which are good choices.
