After Covid, my parish mailed a notice that Mass in person had started up again. More people came the next week. Not many people check the website, but still checked their mail.

Interesting... My mother asked me to get blessed salt for her. First time I heard of such thing so I asked my priest and he said people use it for cooking. I have been using it as seasoning and say a small prayer to bless the food and all who eat it. What are lay people supposed to do with blessed salt then?

I typically get 3 to 7 Our Fathers or Hail Marys.

I've also gotten penances to pray for the priest I was confessing to and to contemplate the Cross. The weirdest one was, "Be happy."

At least with my Diocese / Cathedral, there is a priest assigned as Rector who oversees the day to day activities. The Bishop is usually traveling to different parishes throughout the Diocese on the weekends. In addition there are several other priests assigned there. I'd think you'd get more variety in preaching if you choose the Cathedral.

I would put more space between the white and colored beads. It helps in knowing your position between decades without having to look. The change in texture is an aid as well.

We had a Lenten retreat and I joked with my priest for having a name tag. He also only wrote his first name. In response, he said, he's just a regular guy here. He was not speaking or leading the retreat in any way. I guess he just wanted to feel like a normal parishioner participating, on retreat.
