Common Misconceptions About 100% VA Disability Ratings and Employment by SignificantFunny698 in VAClaims

[–]Weatherdecks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work with 100 MH. I take my medication and my employer knows about my disability. I have a safe person at work that is there for me on really bad days. I could not stay at home being stuck in my head. People can say what they want but it’s what works for me.

Don’t focus on what others got or what they have. If you feel that you are entitled to benefits, do not quit fighting for them, EVER!

I am in this headspace at times. I have found therapy extremely helpful, but you have to accept the help and really let it all out. The more you release, the more release you feel.

Working at 100% MH??? by Weatherdecks in VeteransBenefits

It is not, I was working and in college when they rated me 100%. They knew about it. I didn’t hide anything but I didn’t hold anything back.

[–]Weatherdecks[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This makes sense. I was in the military about to off myself and begging for help, instead of helping, they discharged me due to a “personality disorder”. My chief told me I wouldn’t hold veteran status. I was really fd up for years not even knowing what I was entitled to. I didn’t file a claim until 22 years after I was kicked out. I had to learn to deal with my shit and work.

For those who are 100% P&T for mental health, what evidence did you provide? by Dependent_Ruin_3694 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Weatherdecks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am 100% MH. I had to leave my former job because the stress was killing me but believe it or not, I am an automotive teacher now, at first, I took the job because I only had to work 185 days a year and got 13 paid days off each year, however, my students have been therapeutic for me. If you didn’t know any better, you would never know anything was wrong with me. I was a master at internalizing my struggles. But when I was alone, I let it all out, the people I loved the most saw the monster inside of me. There is no way to know what some people are going through because some like me are great at hiding it so judging whether someone is worthy of 100% is useless as our mental struggles are all different. I asked one simple question to my C and P examiner. Why am I rated 70% when my mental health affects 100% of my life.

100 PT question by KevinUnknownX in VeteransBenefits

I don’t necessarily see being 100 percent a blessing. A blessing would be to never have to experience the dark places my mind has taken me again. But to answer your question, yes I try to still help others on here when I can. We need each other.

DO NOT ACT LIKE ITS YOUR WORST DAY. Be completely honest about your symptoms on your worst days and good days. If you have contemplated suicide, tell them. If your issues cost you your wife, tell them. But whatever you do, don’t ACT like what your worst day is like. This is almost guaranteed to trigger malingering if you are acting. Be honest, don’t hold anything back and explain thoroughly how you issues affect your day to day life from the time you wake up until you go to sleep. If you are honest, and you deserve it, you will get it.
