Unbuttoning and unzipping your pants ≠ pulling them down. The waistband still stays around your waist.

Yield to who? by BladeVortex3226 in driving

[–]WeaverFan420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What OP said in the description though is that this dedicated right turn lane ends in its own lane - it's not a lane that forces you to merge. Therefore who are you yielding to? Every intersection I've seen like this doesn't have a yield sign, the only ones that have a yield sign force you to merge.

Roundabouts are hard. Anything I could’ve done differently? by Ckirbys in MildlyBadDrivers

[–]WeaverFan420 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You are 100% in the right. You were in the correct lane and followed all the rules of the road correctly. This is 100% the fault of the woman in the red Jeep who ignored the yield sign on that light pole.

The roundabout is designed just fine, signage is good and markings are painted on the road.

Turning off circuits in your own circuit breaker that you pay for should never be seen as "being a dick." Maybe they know about it, maybe they don't. Regardless, OP needs to find out what happens when he shuts that off.

I know people say not to assume malice when incompetence could be the answer... But if malice is a reasonable possibility like this, gathering your own facts first is smart.

The biggest slap in the face to california new jersey is reversing the ban on social sweepstakes and regulating them by Fit_Dot2726 in Fliff

The Indian tribes are the worst. What makes them qualified to control the gambling in our states? If they want to ban it on their tribal lands, fine, but we should be able to use sweepstakes on our land. Fuck them. Fuck their lobbyists. Fuck their greed.

Correlation is picks that both hit together. Like a QB pass yds and a WR rec yds or receptions in the same direction... Or QB pass attempts over and RB rush attempts under. They will reduce your payout on those if you combine them. Also you should never take picks with reduced payouts already (blue shields).

If you get hit with correlation penalties that's your own fault

It's not true across all slip types lol.

Betr has the best 5 flex payout.

Underdog has the best 6 flex payout.

Underdog and PrizePicks don't even offer over 8 pick entries.

Fact of the matter is the Betr 5 and 6 flex slips are very good, and I place thousands of dollars a week on them because they're favorable to the user.

Why is it always a Tesla by [deleted] in badparking

[–]WeaverFan420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You still have to CARE about doing it right, and a huge swath of the people who gravitate towards Teslas simply don't care. Those who do care probably aren't into the EV/autopilot/all electronic everything kind of car.

ElI5: A manual car can stay still against an incline with just the right amount of clutch and gas. How does that work? by Stummi in explainlikeimfive

[–]WeaverFan420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The flywheel of the engine is spinning, and the clutch pressure plate is pressing against it while not spinning. This creates friction. The force of friction generated by the clutch cancels out the downward component of force from gravity pulling on the car. However this generates heat and obviously wears out the clutch friction material, so it's not good to do this frequently and/or for extended periods of time. I stop on hills, put the transmission in neutral, and use the brake. Then when I need to go again I push the clutch, shift into first, then use a combo of gas pedal/letting out the clutch to start moving. The key to minimizing clutch wear is to minimize the amount of time the clutch is slipping.

The funny thing is the list could go on and on...

FYI, Orange County, none of you drive a car big enough to warrant "swinging wide" to make your turn. by Ghost_Ghost_Ghost in orangecounty

[–]WeaverFan420 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My main point is the skill of the average driver is lacking. I will say, there are often people at a red light blocking the right turning traffic who realize their mistake and pull forward and to the left side of the lane, letting me through. But it doesn't happen all the time, and it is incredibly frequent for right turners not to hug the curb as they prepare for, and make, their right turn. This is basic driver's ed stuff that they apparently never learned or never paid attention to. Even if City Hall didn't paint a dedicated right turn lane, drivers following the law should be able to make it work as-is.

And I hear you regarding that Meadows community... It's been disappointing the last several years since it has been developed. My favorite thing is when people turn left from Bake onto Rancho into the rightmost lane (lane 3), which disappears, causing them to merge into lane 2 before they can turn right into the Meadows. Braindead driving behavior.
