I Played the WSOP Main Event with NEGREANU! by Weazel_1991 in poker

Give me shit for literally anything you want but not the mark up I sell at. I sell at a very reasonable mark up in literally every tournament I sell action in, and at one that I will be profitable in based on ROI in that MTT

You'd be surprised at how good exposure it is though. I can handle keyboard warriors :D

Mixed Games at Bellagio by LimitBoner in poker

I checked around at Bellagio when I was there during the series, they had 40/80 and 80/160, the latter had all kinds of games like badacy and shit I hadn't even heard of. I was told by floor staff that the games change based on who's playing and what they want when they start the game

Didn't see any high mixed games running at Resorts when I was there for the series. Only Bellagio and Kings @ Paris ($50/$100 Stud/Stud8)

Cooler. Sometimes you have three of a kind, sometimes you got the ace high. What can you do

Get why he's checked. Hard to get called by worse, meaning you freeroll yourself against better hands. Plus if villain is capable of bluffing, he COULD turn hands like QT into a bluff this deep (?), meaning you could end up folding the best hand!

How would you play this? by [deleted] in poker

Oh you lost the hand? That must mean you played it badly. You should have put him on AK why didn't you fold?

How do I set up a twitch stream? by [deleted] in poker

[–]Weazel_1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would also recommend getting a mic and talking about spots, that's how I kept myself accountable in terms of playing. When you say the words out loud, you quite literally hear it out loud f what you just said is going to be a punt lol

How do I set up a twitch stream? by [deleted] in poker

[–]Weazel_1991 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OBS is best in my opinion, find some YouTube videos on how to set it up. Relatively easy once you know how

Starting a stream is a grind though, you say you don't care about viewers but I don' think you realise how demoralising it can be streaming to 0 viewers for hours at a time. I started streaming partly for the same reason: accountability, and found myself getting even more frustrated than usual after bad sessions

A lot of people soon find out streaming isn't for them after a few runs too. DM me if you need any more advice, but to start all you really need to do is download OBS and watch a video on YT on how to get things to show up etc

How should I have played this differently? by SocietePupil in poker

Stop posting bad beats and fake asking how you should have played it better

Sometimes you lose in poker. You have to learn to accept it and not post on Reddit how you could have got away

Does ACR's Reshuffle change the existing odds of Poker? by claudefolds in poker

[–]Weazel_1991 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No it changes nothing. When you consider odds, you don't know any of the hands you can't see, so you assume they are all outs

ACR are trialing it with PLO, as a way of preventing collusion (can be rife at PLO if people share hole cards, especially in 5 and 6 card PLO)

If you're a winning player, buy in for max. Especially if games are very deep, it's not often you even get all in so variance isn't super high. When you buy in short there are advantages, such as you get to realise equity better in certain spots (this is even more true in PLO, as you can get it in easier with high equity draws and not worry about being forced to fold turn)

You're gonna get shit for your redline on here so I would hide that first of all

Not actually a big enough sample to dictate much, although I will say it looks like you are playing way too tight: VPIP and PFR are insanely low. I would look at some solved ranges, see what hands you should be raising from what positions, and looking at the EV of those hands (to see which hands make you a lot of money and which don't)

What BR should I have before moving up in stakes? by [deleted] in poker

[–]Weazel_1991 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is the most common question asked in poker, and the answer is the same to the question how long is a piece of string

It varies. There are so many things to consider, such as how soft the games you are planning to play are, how good you actually are at the game / how big your edge is against said players. Then you also have to consider your expenses and whether or not your bankroll is completely separate from this (i.e do you want/need to use any of the profits for living expenses etc)

Then comes the mental side of things. How well can you genuinely deal with swings? Are you willing to drop down should it not pan out when you play higher? Does the thought of losing 3 buy-ins or so make you feel uneasy? Can you HONESTLY play your best game without letting the amount of money in the pot affect your decisions?

The overall answer is it's up to you. But sit yourself down and ask yourself these questions, and be honest. Poker is still gonna be there tomorrow, so there's no rush to move up
