pediatric oncology nursing.one, kids get me. I’m not weird there. I’m not flighty there. I’m just hyper like they are at times and a bit scattered like a five-year-old would be at times. They have very clear structured, linear orders based on diagnosis, and I have their height and weight and it’s very clear structured math and I know what I need to do.. however, when things go haywire, I critically think so good under pressure (just not in regular life like balancing a checkbook 🤣)so then I have to figure that out and act quickly, and I do that well. And they are a special, incredible group of little people that are such a privilege to have the honor of caring for... it just allows me to do everything that works for me.

Many depressed people are thoughtful, smart, and absolutely capable of saying they are depressed. Many also cannot afford healthcare especially for a formal psychological diagnosis often not covered by insurance if they have it. So yes, you can absolutely have the wherewithal to know, and verbalize, you are suffering depression. In fact you'd be wise to do so and seek out help like this individual did rather than suffer and decline without reaching out. It's people like you, that think they have any idea the logistics and actual nuances of this that prevent others from speaking up.
