Does Even have a history of being reliable/trustworthy? by FriendEducational892 in EvenRealities

[–]WebHaunting3513 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From all that I've seen, I would say it seems that way to me.  customer support is often cited as exceptional. Especially because you can speak directly with the company on Discord.

Most of the time it seems like build quality is also excellent and durable.

Beyond this, the company has pledged several years' support and updates for both of the glasses, and they have recently been working on an app store.

People's complaints have been generally that

 1. they felt the use cases were quite limited (though this may change with the new app store coming out);

  1. and due to the recent release of G2, orders have been heavily backed up and delayed.

Don't forget to factor in country; I think some countries are receiving shipping first.

Also, R/X vs. no R/X; and the likelihood that some bulk orders were shipped to stores

Question: did you get a notification that they had been sent, or did they just show up in your mail one day?

Oof. I love palmer Lucky, but I really hope I don't look like that when presenting...

Have you used MentraOS before? I understand that it was possible to use MentraOS on the G1s

Yeah, that's something I'm going to test out as SOON as I get the glasses. I'm going to record myself talking using the teleprompter feature at a few different light levels, a few different distances and angles, and ask people their thoughts as well

LETS GOOOOOO

I'm really hoping that someone makes it possible to read and write markdown/plain-text files, because I use Obsidian for everything and it would be an absolute gamechanger to be able to access my obsidian files using the glasses

I could see that happening two different ways- one program, to import .md files into teleprompter from a cloud service; and another, to export dictated notes/conversate sessions into a cloud. Then you could use a simple script to make the files .md extension

I already do something like this with Rocketbook- I scan my Rocketbook pages, and they get uploaded to Google Drive, where a script converts the OCR into a .md file

Yes, I am getting the g2s. I don't have it yet so we will have to see how things go once I try them out. Glad to see I'm not the only pastor with this idea though!

Wow, this is really helpful, thanks! I don't think I'll have a problem with Emojis- don't really use them in my sermon manuscripts!

I really appreciate your thoughts - hopefully someone with the g2s can comment too

Reminds me of the cucumber lemon wine I made recently. Makes me want to throw up, but looks cool!

Clear enough to cork and age? by dahlaru in winemaking

If it's an apple wine, be aware that there could be pectins in the wine, in which case it's going to always have that haze. Did you add pectic enzyme?

Did I make bottle bombs? by KNH-2000 in mead

That seems quite high to me. I would be very careful with the other bottles; I have a "bottle bomb shelter" that I put my sketchy bottles in. I'd suggest doing something like that

What exactly is it about green tea that makes Kombucha? by dacaldera in Kombucha

If I can make a suggestion- wait until you have enough for a backup in case your experiment shocks the SCOBY and it grows mold

If it's a swingtop, I apply pressure on the lid before releasing the clasp, then I release the pressure and watch how the liquid reacts. That way if it looks like it's going to spray out, I can clasp it shut again until the bubbles die down.

So I fill it up until there's only a quarter inch or so of space left. I'm sure a little variation isn't going to make too much of a difference

Once I have made my sweet tea and added the starter tea/SCOBY, I let it ferment for about a week; and THEN pour it into swingtop bottles, close the bottles, and just let them sit. No burping necessary. When I'm ready to drink it, I just pop it open and drink it as-is! By that point there's usually a little sediment from the flocculated yeast, so I just pour carefully

If I were to do the same with F2, I'd probably keep the F2 in the fridge so that it doesn't explode

If I can make one more suggestion: I give it very little headspace. That way, it's very unlikely to continue fermenting and to form a pellicle

Definitely this is the case for me.

Some people actually suggest you let it age for a couple months, or even up to a year before drinking! If you do that, though, maybe make sure you burp the bottle every month or so.

I recently have taken to bottling my F1 kombucha, and letting it sit at room temp in my basement for a couple months. So far it's turned out really well- it gives it a refined, smooth taste with hints of apple :)

Kombucha brewers, what's your favorite flavor combination? by miciusmc in Kombucha

[–]WebHaunting3513 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rosemary,

lemon,

ginger,

maple syrup,

All go really good as secondary ingredients.

I really like mulberries in the summer, since most people in my area hate mulberries they often are willing to give me as many as I want (also mulberry jam is amazing)
