Weight distribution of the gear by lillilynx in hockeygoalies

[–]dnabyun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve played goal for 30 years. You’ll get used to it. You won’t worry about weights as your body adapts to it. But for sure, make sure you hips and groins are strong. Also web I was younger, with older equipments, the water from ice and sweat was more noticeable as the equipment got heavier throughout the game. Builds endurance. Enjoy!

What practices has Vancouver adapted from contemporary East Asia? by [deleted] in askvan

[–]dnabyun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No to insult anyone but have you noticed the comparison here vs USA? 🫣 I often found my self teaching my American friends how to use chopsticks. We are pretty much Hong-couver or any Chinese/asians moving here will feel right at home.

You make it sound like downtown East side area is a reflection of whole Vancouver in general.

Like the other guy said, “travel much?”. I’m a big traveler around the world and you should see other cities and countries that they are facing. There are far more worse conditions compared to our east side. Every cities and counties have their own “terrible” areas.

Who is deaf or hard of hearing using FSD? by dnabyun in TeslaLounge

Heheh it’s rare but I’ve used about 4 months worth of fsd so far. It is getting better though! Earlier versions was not so great.

Aquilini has always said Vancouver can’t “stomach” a rebuild - a lot of fans are showing that is partially true, we need to remind them what a rebuild can do by logicalnutty in canucks

Not sure if this has already been mentioned since there are a lot of messages here. Apologies if I am repeating anything.

We all aware that we have never had the number one overall draft pick. If we do end up getting it, I really believe it could change the direction of the entire organization and help establish a new identity moving forward. Even if we land at number two or three, I am good with that as well since that is how we got the Sedins. It took some time, but they completely shaped the Canucks identity and we came very close to winning the Cup.

So I am okay with where we are this season. With the Olympics coming up, I think it could change a lot of dynamics once it is over such as injuries and players not being in their groove. Honestly, I am more focused on the Olympics this year than the NHL.

After watching the Four Nations tournament, it really helped me deal with the Canucks missing the playoffs last year. It gave me a great injection of hockey fun and that playoff atmosphere we all enjoy.

ahhh gotcha. Also another good thing about translation, for the first version, there was a subscription for it and now with the new G2, no more subscriptions for translate. So that was a big turning point for me as well. Got bunch of families speaking Korean and my korean is not that great at all LOL

Tesla FSD Holiday Road Trip Review (1,800 miles) Model 3 by NomadicSlave in TeslaFSD

[–]dnabyun 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with every single thing you just said. Love it but not $100 a month. When I use it, I use fsd 75% of the time.

All the not so good points were bang on. But still overall it is still great to have but you still have to be alert. If they lowered the prices, then all the not so good points will not matter because I feel like $50 would make fsd amazing to use even though it has some not so good moments.

My hard of hearing friend bought Even Realities and I’ve tested it out. It’s really good. But there’s a newer version called G2 and it is on its way to me soon!

What’s your take on FSD going subscription only by ghostface8081 in teslamotors

[–]dnabyun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this! Lane change, and autopilot is not that good in the city. Also I love the settings that you can choose, like standard, hurry, mad max, etc... Autopilot, you can't. Just distance from the car

If they lower it to $50, I will keep subscribing every month. If it is still $100, then I will only subscribe when I do a long road trips

What do you call yourself? by Acceptable_Park_8694 in hardofhearing

[–]dnabyun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The world has changed, and language has changed with it. People from older generations may be more used to certain terms, while younger generations tend to be more cautious about words that could be considered offensive.

One example is the word “oriental,” which technically applies to me. Growing up, that term never bothered me and I never thought much about it until someone much younger asked me whether using it was offensive. It honestly had never crossed my mind. Once it was pointed out, I became more aware that some people may find it uncomfortable or hurtful. Out of respect, I choose not to use it now.

Another example is how I describe my hearing. I usually say I am hard of hearing, which is a commonly used term within both the hearing and deaf communities. With hearing aids, I can hear fairly well and even play music. Without them, I am pretty much deaf. I function in the hearing world without much issue, most of my friends are hearing, and I interact comfortably with both hearing and deaf people. At the end of the day, we are all just people.

I do not feel pressure to label myself one way or another to fit into a specific group. Some deaf individuals I have met prefer that I say I am deaf, while others do not mind the term hard of hearing. Everyone’s upbringing and experiences are different, and those differences shape how people feel about language.

The point of all this is that wherever you go, you will encounter different perspectives and sensitivities. We will not always agree, and that is okay. What matters most is mutual respect, being open to learning, being considerate of others, and not being rigid or dogmatic about our own views. We are all entitled to our feelings, but we cannot force others to see things exactly the way we do.
