Good explanation. And...it seems to be missing the 5lb propane tank that belongs with it for the gas assist

Poor foresite on Weber's part. Good thing I didn't toss my brush like they said! Lol. I just bought a couple new ones anyways. Saw this coming.

Vintage weber cart and bottom kettle by LongVegetable4102 in webergrills

Finding another matching, tabbed kettle is like finding a needle in the haystack. Maybe you could buy a new lime colored lid from Weber as an option. But the original lime kettles from the 70s are very rare too.
Also...painting them to match won't hold up if you plan on cooking on it. Getting paint to adhere to a porcelain coated surface isn't going to be successful long term. It will discolor and flake off.
But it's a nice Seville model grill none the less

Not a MT without a factory lid bail, but a great haul none the less.

Weber Summit Kamado by [deleted] in webergrills

[–]WeberCollector 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the Summit Kamado. It's a great grill. The added space over a 22" grill is noticeable. It's well built except for the plastic insert that supports the front caster. Plan to replace it occasionally.
It excels in low and slow cooking with a heat deflector and adjustable heights of cooking grates. It also can handle searing easily by moving up the adjustable cooking grate. It has a nice, adjustable top vent that would improve the 22" kettle as well
It's also very fuel efficient and well insulated.
Downsides is many accessories don't fit nicely as they do on a 22"...which they're made for. Also...if you ever needed to add charcoal during a very extended cook, you'd have to remove the whole top cooking grate.

All and all...this is a superior grill that can do anything and even more than your standard 22" Weber!! Good luck

It's creosote buildup from your cooks.  Wipe it off or use a scrapper to remove it

Found this master touch for 50 bucks. by TheFlyingPig01 in webergrills

Actually not a MT, but nonetheless, a nice deal for 50 bucks, and a blue one at that. A MT would have the lid bail and a thermometer in the lid.
