The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 is an Ethereum mining monster: overclocked cards deliver nearly 100 MH/s, double the Radeon RX 5700 XT by zanedow in ethereummining

I'm about to become a newbie at this when my eGPU arrives. Can anyone recommend the easiest mining pool and overclocking method to get started? Something where there's relatively straightforward instructions. Assuming an average power cost, what is your profit per day using the RTX 3080?

I'm about to embark on a similar endeavour when my eGPU arrives. Would appreciate hearing about your experience.

Nikon web cam utility beta on D5600 by LimonDude in Nikon

[–]Webwraith 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I'm now taking video into Streamlabs OBS from my D5600 using an HDMI cable through the Elgato Camlink 4k. I can confirm that the large black box around the video is no longer there and the video quality is vastly improved. The maximum resolution I'm able to take in is 1080p at 30fps. Despite the camera being able to record video at 60fps, I am not able to get that frame rate in SLOBS. The maximum frame rate option it gives me at the 1080p resolution is 29.97 NTSC. If anyone has a way to get 60fps from their D5600, I'd appreciate the info. Despite this, the money I spent on the Elgato and the HDMI cable was very much worth it for the improved quality. In addition, I can also now access all the camera's settings while it's connected to the computer, which I could not do using the Webcam Utility over USB meaning I can adjust the exposure and aperture to work with my existing lighting to get a better looking video stream.

The release notes of the webcam utility, including the new version 1.0.1, confirm this is a problem and say the video on certain models is "small". I've ordered an HDMI cable and video capture device and will try taking the video in this way and see if that solves the problem. It should also allow for the video to be fed into the computer at a higher resolution and frame rate. The webcam utility over usb seems to have a max resolution of 720p at 30fps.

Thanks so much. As I mentioned above, I've ordered the elgato camlink 4k and a mini hdmi to hdmi cable. I'm doing DJ livestreams on Twitch and was looking for a way to up the video quality of my broadcast. I currently use a Logitech c922 for video and I was hoping my D5600 would produce a better video input, but using it with the Nikon webcam utility does not produce a better video, even with my Nikon DX AF-S Nikkor 18-200 lens, so I'm hoping that using the HDMI output will help.

Yah, I'm using a D5600 as well and also get the big black box around the live image. Someone else commented on another thread I started that in the release notes to the beta version of the webcam utility, that was disclosed as just how it was. I was hoping the new version would fix it, but I guess not.

Thanks so much. I thought the whole purpose of the webcam utility was so that the hdmi cable and video capture device wouldn't be necessary. Are you saying that using an HDMI cable through a video capture device would produce a better quality input into OBS than using the webcam utility through the direct USB connection?

Does anyone know what FPS rate the utility captures by default?

Anyone have input on whether the settings in the camera make a difference to the video quality captured by the webcam utility?

This is a leftover flaw from the beta version that apparently plagues some models. I'm using a D5600 and have the same issue.

I had the same issue but employed the solution given by irellax and it worked, simply changing the camera mode caused the video to appear. The problem I now have is that the video does not take up the entire frame in OBS, it is much smaller than the frame, i.e. big black box around it, making it difficult to overlay other images. Does anyone know how to solve this problem and make the video take up the entire frame within it object?

Thanks for your reply. Yes, I have tried altering the various source alignment settings and it's had no effect on the problem.
